Better farm animals of English landowners bought higher profits.

The new breed of cattle and sheep replaced the old, these animals produced

more meat. Agricultural Revolution didn't just raise sheep and cattle for meat, also for wool

from sheep and milk from cattle. It was hardier for the new breeds, and they could catch

the diseases easily. The up keep of the animals made the farmers be in a money crunch.

Due to the lack of money farmers couldn't afford new and better animals and plants.

CROPS/TECHNOLOGIES

Landowers became committed to farming food for profit. They were willing to invest money into farming techniques that could make then richer. Their goal was to make a acre of land to make more crops and money.

Jethro Tull understood the way soil helped plants grow. He invented a planting machine, Called "seed drill". It could be puller by a horse; it planted seeds in rows neatly and faster then throwing them over the field by hand.

Turnip Townshend found out by growing four crops (turnips, barley grasses and wheat) by rotating those crops once for one year and so on. This makes four times as much crops. This made farmers much more productive.

DEVELOPMENTS

Strip farming method is where farmers had small strips of land to farm. This was extremely unproductive. Later on landowners began to make the smaller strips into bigger fields. Larger fields meant farmers spent more time working on more profitably.

AFFECTS OF THE DEVELOPMENTS

Parliament passed law making the commons to be divided up. The result was that the amount of land available for farming increased a lot.

Pro: The wealthy farmers took advantage of enclosures.

Con: Poor farmers were left in unfortunate circumstances.
