John 8:30-36 As He spoke these words, many believed in Him. (31) Then Jesus said to those

Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. (32) And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall

make you free." (33) They answered Him, "We are Abraham's descendants, and have never

been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, 'You will be made free'?" (34) Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. (35) And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son

abides forever. (36) Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

We live in a changing world. Yet amid all the changes there

are something that never change.

SOME CONSTANTSA. God - Malachi 3:6 "For I am the LORD, I do not

change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

B. Christ - Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

C. The Gospel - John 12:48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him--the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

D. We need certainties upon which we can depend: certainties that will awaken and sober us to things that are real, lasting and valuable. Consider the following Bible certainties:

I. THE CERTAINTY OF EXPOSURE

A. Numbers 32:23 But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out.

B. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. 14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

C. Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

I. THE CERTAINTY OF EXPOSURE

D. Romans 14:12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

E. Examples

1. Achan - Joshua 7:10-26

2. David - 2 Sam. 12:1-14

3. Jonah - Jonah 1&2

4. Ananias & Sapphira - Acts 5:1-11

F. All must realize that public sins are always exposed.

II. THE CERTAINTY OF LEAVING OUR EARTHLY POSSESSIONS

A. Job 1:21 And he said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD."

B. Matthew 6:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

C. Colossians 3:1-4 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

III. THE CERTAINTY OF HARVEST TIME

A.Galatians 6:6-9 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

B.Our character today may not be what it should be, but it can change. We have but two choices, which shall it be...Sow to the Spirit, and reap eternal life OR sow to the flesh, and reap corruption?

IV. THE CERTAINTY OF DEATH

A. Ecclesiastes 8:8 No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, And no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, And wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it.

B. Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

C. Luke 16:22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.

D. Joshua 1:2 "Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them--the children of Israel.

IV. THE CERTAINTY OF DEATH

E. Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

F. Genesis 2:17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

G.Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.

V. THE CERTAINTY OF JUDGMENT

A.Acts 17:30-31 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, 31

because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."

B.Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

V. THE CERTAINTY OF JUDGMENT

C. 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

D.2 Timothy 4:1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:

E. Romans 14:12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

V. THE CERTAINTY OF JUDGMENT

F. Matthew 25:31-33 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

VI. THE CERTAINTY OF SEPARATION OF THE WICKED FROM THE RIGHTEOUS

B. John 10:27-28 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

VI. THE CERTAINTY OF SEPARATION OF THE WICKED FROM THE RIGHTEOUS

C. Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, 'Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?' 28

He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' The servants said to him, 'Do you want us then to go and gather them up?' 29 But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn."

VII. THE CERTAINTY OF FINAL REWARD

A. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

B. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

VII. THE CERTAINTY OF FINAL REWARD

C. Matthew 25:34-46 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' 40

And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.‘ >>>

VII. THE CERTAINTY OF FINAL REWARD

41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' 44 Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' 45 Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

VII. THE CERTAINTY OF FINAL REWARD

D. This final event is the inauguration of the eternal state. The wicked are condemned to eternal torment in hell - Revelation 20:14-15

Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

E. God has something wonderful in store for the faithful Christian - 1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
