Setting Up Email with Apple Mail

1) Go to the “Mail” Menu and choose “Preferences...”

2) In the bottom left corner, click the “+” button.

3) Enter your name, your email address, and password, then click “Continue”.

4) Choose IMAP or POP (see below)from the Account Type.

For Incoming Mail Server, enter mail.jtechcommunications.com

Your User Name is the same as your email address, and has the same password.

After filling the forms out, click “Continue”.

POP is useful if you only access your e-mail from one computer, since it downloads the e-mail once, then deletes it from the server.

IMAP is useful if you check your e-mail from multiple devices (computers, phones, etc.), since it keeps copies of your e-mail on the server and allows for synchronization between clients.

IMAP also serves as an automatic backup, but it does take up more of your storage limit than POP.

5) For Outgoing Mail Server, enter

mail.jtechcommunications.com

Check “Use only this server.”

Check “Use Authentication.”

The User Name and Password are

your email address and its

password.

Click “Continue”.

6) After reviewing the Account

Summary, check “Take account

online,” then click the “Create”

button.

Congratulations!

Your e-mail setup is complete.
