setting Gears in motion Building Polling Place Teams
Every election judge has their ideas of what makes a polling
place great. It could be the receptive staff at the venue or the
comfort of the HVAC. It could also be the proximity to their
home. At the Board of Elections Office, we know that it’s all
about the people working at each polling place.
Working as a team allows each election judge the opportuni-
ty to make the polling location run as smoothly and efficiently
as possible. Your commitment to serve as an election judge
either as a returning judge or a new team member is critical
to the success of the polling place.
Every location has the potential to be a great polling place.
Do you have a family member or friend that would like to get
involved? If so, please tell them that the Anne Arundel Coun-
ty Board of Elections is currently assigning Election Judges to
polling locations, building new election judge teams, and
getting our returning election judge teams back together for
the 2020 Presidential Elections.
If you know somebody that is interested in serving but is un-
sure of the commitment, we would like to have them attend
an Election Judge Information Session. Please tell them to call
410-222-0494 to schedule an Information Session today!
This election cycle the Anne Arundel County Department of Finance is requiring all of our new elec-
tion judges that have not previously worked for us to complete a W-9 Request for Taxpayer Identifi-
cation Number and Certification Form. This will enable our office to certify that we have the name,
address and social security number for every new election judge. If you have not previously worked
as an election judge, we have sent you the W-9 form to complete and return to our office as
soon as possible. The completed W-9 form may be mailed to our office at: Anne Arundel County
Board of Elections, PO Box 490, Glen Burnie MD, 21060.
We would like to thank the 2,079 election judges that have already submitted their application for
the 2020 Presidential Election Cycle. If you haven’t sent us your application, what are you wait-
ing for?
You will have a better chance of being placed at the polling location of your choice if we receive
your completed application in a timely manner.
We are already assigning the positions for the 2020 Presidential Primary. Currently, we have as-
signed 1936 of the 2,528 election judges we need. We will contact each election judge applicant
as their application is received.
If you have any questions or concerns, call 410-222-0494.
