Access Points
• An access point is a name (person or corporate body), subject term, title, call number, control number, etc., under which a bibliographic record may be searched and identified.
• Some of these fields are under authority control.

Concept of Main Entry
• In each cataloging record one access point is chosen as the main entry heading
• Main entry is assigned to the entity that is primarily responsible for the intellectual content
• If primary intellectual responsibility cannot be determined, title is main entry
