Session aims:To understand the differences between
coaching and mentoring.To identify the characteristics and skills of
coaching.
What are the differences between coaching and mentoring?Card sort activity: decide which definitions

Defining coaching‘Unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their
performance. It is about helping them learn rather than teaching them.’ (John Whitmore)
“Coaching is a two-way process that enables people to learn,
develop and be more effective” (as defined by The Mind Gym)
Improving people’s performance is key to success. One-to-one attention will bring about accelerated learning.
