Services for Education We are externally rated as national market leaders in the areas of education and charity law, being in the top tier of advisers for both of these areas in the Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession 2011. We act for a wide range of schools of all types, and have been one of the leading law firms in advising on the current very significant programme of school reform and change of category. Since the Academies Act 2010 came into force, team members have assisted in the conversion of over 500 schools, and are instructed on a substantial number of new conversions. We have also acted for 46 of the completed Type 1 (sponsored) academies. Additionally, we are currently acting on the creation of free schools, University Technical Colleges and other new types of school. This wide range of experience means that we are well versed in the issues which are likely to apply for all types of academy, free school and University Technical College matters, with specialists in our charity, commercial, property and employment teams who have a detailed understanding of the academies market. This provides reassurance to our clients that we are able to deal with any issues which may well arise during the course of their project and that we would have solutions which are both pragmatic and effective. In terms of our team, we have three partners whose work largely consists of advising on academy projects, along with support from nine property lawyers, eight charity and education lawyers, three employment lawyers and two HR consultants. We are therefore able to field a significant level of experience to assist in academy creation and conversion. Services for EducationWe are externally rated as national market leaders in the areas

of education and charity law, being in the top tier of advisers for

both of these areas in the Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession

2011. We act for a wide range of schools of all types, and have

been one of the leading law firms in advising on the current very

significant programme of school reform and change of category.

Since the Academies Act 2010 came into force, team members

have assisted in the conversion of over 500 schools, and are

instructed on a substantial number of new conversions. We have

also acted for 46 of the completed Type 1 (sponsored) academies.

Additionally, we are currently acting on the creation of free schools,

University Technical Colleges and other new types of school.

This wide range of experience means that we are well versed in

the issues which are likely to apply for all types of academy, free

school and University Technical College matters, with specialists

in our charity, commercial, property and employment teams who

have a detailed understanding of the academies market. This

provides reassurance to our clients that we are able to deal with

any issues which may well arise during the course of their project

and that we would have solutions which are both pragmatic and

effective.

In terms of our team, we have three partners whose work largely

consists of advising on academy projects, along with support from

nine property lawyers, eight charity and education lawyers, three

employment lawyers and two HR consultants. We are therefore

able to field a significant level of experience to assist in academy

creation and conversion.
