Dear friends and donors, Charity organization Serbs for Serbs registered in the state of Illinois in United States in Jun 2010 by the group of the Serbian youth. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization. Donation is tax-deductible to the extent followed by the law. On 30th September, 2011 we finally got the letter from department of the treasury (IRS) with tax exempt 501(c)3 approval. All donations to our organization donated from June 16, 2010 are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code. We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers of gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.

About Us

The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Americans, Serbs and their friends through planned projects, social and humanitarian activities in order to develop and foster better society for future generations and provide aid for underprivileged families in need. Although there are many humanitarian organizations and associations, help often doesn't reach the most jeopardized. Due to unnecessary administration, missing information and slow decision making, the delivery of aid arrives too late to the final consumers, or not at all. It is a sad and embarrassing, but true fact that more than 18.000 children daily die around the world because of starvation and malnutrition. There, among us, the blind and deaf. We are witnesses of the bad demographic situation of our nation, decreasing natality, increasing number of singles, abortions, accelerated aging of

the population and generally bad economic condition of the households in Serbia, Republic of Srpska and other countries in the Balkan. An average couple has "fallen" on one child. Analysts warn that Serbs will become a minority in its own country in the following century if the nation, individuals and government don't wake up from the nescient in which they've fallen! On the other hand, nobody is talking about the families with many children which grieve by living in bitter poverty. Occupied by their everyday struggle for survival, they are being humbly in their desire for implementing rights which belong to them. Their life stories, fears and problems are identical, but almost invisible and unheard in order to gain the attention of the public, media and even state. That's why the idea of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs arose. The organization was formed by a group of young and trustful people, who are united by the common vision of helping families blessed by many children and who are aware of the fact that even a small help means a lot for those who don't live in a material excess. We are united by the humane idea to help the poorest part of the Serbian nation. Charity organization Serbs for Serbs try to revive the spiritless energy of the Serbian Diaspora which would be able to reinforce people of Serbian heritage as well as all good people throughout the world with minimal, but constant monthly donations. We hope and believe that there is also a grain of doing good and that you will join us in the endless struggle against poverty. God bless and save all Serbian families with many children and our honored donors who participate in the noble effort to return smile on children faces.

Ambitions

Our mission The mission of Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is to affect on consciousness of Serbian people through our projects and humanitarian activities, in order to develop better society for future generations.

Why Serbs for Serbs? We wanted to alleviate impaired spirit of Serbian people in togetherness and brotherhood help through humanitarian work and social aid. Who do we help? We help Serbian families who live in the Balkans, have five or more children and live in terrible poverty. Under terrible poverty we define absence of one or more basic factors required for living: food, clothes, shoes, and safe space for living.

Why do we help? We believe that there is a basic need for one human (or a group) to help others in distress. A help is not only human virtue but also a Christian responsibility. By focusing our help on families with many children, we directly affect on their stirring toward becoming independent from social-dependable government programs.

What are our long term goals?

• family is ready to support itself daily and manage to pay all required expenses;

• their children are encouraged to continue with school and raising their own family;

• our donors are satisfied with the activities and they are ready to help other families;

• our organization is satisfied with the results;

• family is ready in the future to become our donor and if necessary help other families that are in need of help.

Who do we need in organization? We need members and donors that will secure financial stability through supporting our programs and activities in the future. Donors may join our daily activities within the organization in order to coordinate our work better. We also need volunteers ready to donate several hours per week for actual work within the organization. Activities of volunteers and their specific tasks would be determined by the required projects and their personal interest. From that group of volunteers we would look for future leaders of organization.

FAMILY MILUNOVIC SOON WITH FIVE CHILDREN

Representatives of the Charity organization SERBS FOR SERBS from Belgrade visited prior to Easter family Milunovic in their home in the Belgrade suburb Umka. This hard working family consists of father Bojan (38) and mother Ruzica (36) and children Luka (7), Marija (5), Marta (4) and Lazar (2), and soon the family will become richer for another member since mother Ruzica is in eight month of pregnancy.

Family Milunovic with father Makarije, the prior of

Fenek monastery

Until four years ago, family Milunovic lived as subtenants in Zarkovo with two children, but thanks to their parents, good people and God’s help they bought the lot in Umka and started building a family house in which the six of them live now with another member coming soon.

Father Bojan is employed in City Transport Company as a driver and mother Ruzica is working as a religious teacher in the Elementary school “United Nations” in Cerak, and they are also receiving the parents’ benefit of 14,000 RSD on their fourth child. Unfortunately, they don’t have the right to child benefit because their total income exceed the foreseen limit by 27 RSD.

Current look of the Milutinovic house attic

Due to great expenses for building and equipping the house and rapid expansion of the family, they were unable to equip the attic and build children’s rooms and a small bathroom. For the time being, the six of them are placed in two rooms, and the seventh member of the family will have to get his/her place.

Future space for the stairs in the attic

During the conversation with the representatives of our organization, family Milunovic asked us to help them get the construction material for finishing the building and equipping the attic in the house for two children’s rooms and a bathroom. In this manner the children would get additional space for living and studying and the parents would get great help and support in further rising of their family.

Father Bojan would conduct all the necessary construction works on his own and with the help of his friends if needed.

Charity organization Serbs for Serbs is appealing to all its friends, members and donors of the organization to SUPPORT the realization of this project in order to encourage this and numerous other families to expand and strengthen their families, especially in these difficult times when each year in Serbia approximately 40,000 people die more than it is born.

SFS VISITED FAMILY STEVANOVIC FROM NIS

At the end of April, members of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs from Nis visited the six-member family Stevanovic living in the city of Nis. We planned to help family Stevanovic in the scope of the charity-sport tournament “Trojka iz bloka”, which is taking place on Sunday, May 22 in Nis. The family consists of mother Jelena, father Aleksandar, and children: Milica (8), Natasa (7), Dimitrije (4), and Andjelija (2). Family Stevanovic is a hardworking family who lived quite decent considering our standards. Father Aleksandar, who is a lawyer, started a private business where he could earn enough to fulfill his biggest wish – to have a multiple children family. Unfortunately, in the past several years his firm as well as dozens of others cannot survive in the scope of the overall economic crisis. When the demand for the services of his firm was dramatically reduced, the family came to the point that it cannot earn enough on a monthly basis in order to provide normal living conditions to the children.

However, since family Stevanovic consists of great fighters, father Aleksandar came to the idea to restore the household of his great-grandfather in the village near Nis, and to start business with bees. For the past year of great effort and work he managed to start the business and currently the family has ten beehives. The family plans to significantly increase the number of beehives in the following years in order to earn enough money for normal life by selling honey, so we decided to donate family Stevanovic another ten beehives and honey strainer (the machine by which one can pull the honey from the beehives) from the collected means through the project “Trojka iz bloka”. We call upon all the people of good will to participate and donate in order to help the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs with the aim of helping the socially endangered multiple children Serbian families throughout Balkan.

VALUABLE HELP FOR KITCHENS IN KOSOVO

In the scope of the big Easter action, representatives of the Charity organization SERBS FOR SERBS donated valuable help for public kitchens on Kosovo and Metohija. The donation consisted of the forage mixer for the agricultural holding in the Novo Brdo municipality and it was delivered together with the representatives of the organization “Majka devet Jugovica” from Gracanica which is in charge of the work of the agricultural holding whose income is used to partially provide the means for the work of the public kitchens and food supply for over 2,000 disadvantaged people on Kosovo and Metohija each day. The amount of the help is 431,000 RSD.

SFS VISITED FAMILY VUCETIC FROM ZEMUN

The sport-charity project of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs “Trojka iz bloka” was held for the second time in Zemun, in the BC Mladost fields. For two years in a row the Zemun inhabitants are demonstrating how to take care of the neighbors! An extraordinary tournament was organized with the help of the Zemunmunicipality and BCMladost, and the prize for all the participants is the help to family Vuceticfrom Zemun! Family Vucetic were founded by Aleksandar and Adriana, and God gave them five wonderful children – Konstantin (13), Dimitrije (11), Kasijana (8), Elena (3) and the youngest Stefan who just turned one.

Mother Andrijana with Stefan, Elena and Dimitrije

The hardworking family Vucetic is living at the end of Zemun with its last resorts and strength of father Aleksandar for his children. There are five icons on the walls of the Vucetic family, apart from the icon-protector and there are also five holy names protecting the children of the Vucetic family. Despite all difficulties and disadvantages, the parents are giving everything to raise their children in the patriarchal spirit and Orthodox faith.

The youngest and the oldest – Stefan in his brother

In this house, love is being multiplied, icons are being collected and books are being piled up on the walls.

Precisely the walls are what family Vucetic needs for a better life. The apartment in which they live is brought up to a decent condition according to their possibilities, but the room upon the entrance to the house is not finished. They want to make the living room and a kitchen from that room and thus set free additional room for the more comfortable life of the children. By building this room the children would get additional space for learning and a new room for playing, fantasizing and healthier upbringing.

Current outlook of the space soon to become the living

room

The Charity organization Serbs for Serbs recognized the much-needed action which should take place in Zemun and it would be realized through “Trojka iz bloka”! Right after the tournament we started materializing the idea and family Vucetic is about to get additional 20 m2 which is going to mean much more than the relatively small surface can show. With the help of good people from Zemun, family Vucetic is heading towards a better life.

Little Elena Vucetic was the most interested in taking

The mission of “Trojka iz bloka” is recognizing the needs of disadvantaged families and from its initial assignment – building and reconstructing the bathrooms it moved to adjusting the basic needs of disadvantaged families thus trying to help in every possible manner! Become the part of “Trojka iz bloka”! We call upon all the people of good will to participate and donate in order to help the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs with the aim of helping the socially disadvantaged multiple children Serbian families throughout Balkan.

DONATION FOR KINDERGARTEN IN ORAHOVAC

For two years, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs has been actively helping the kindergarten “Our joy” in Orahovac on Kosovo and Metohija. After the successfully conducted action of renovation of roof on the kindergarten, we continue to help the children from Metohija!

We changed the dilapidated windows on the back side of the kindergarten and set the outer isolation and a façade on the biggest part of the object. Part of the means was provided in Germany from the children of “Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium” who collected 400 EUR and thus helped their younger friends on Kosovo and Metohija. The value of the works on the kindergarten was 129,701 RSD.

SFS VISITED FAMILY NIKOLIC FROM OBRENOVAC

Parents with children Pavle, Teodora, Andrijana, Dusan

and Mladen

At the end of April, members of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs visited the seven-member family Nikolic from the village of Poljane, Obrenovac municipality. We planned to help family Nikolic in the scope of the charity-sport tournaments “Trojka iz bloka” which would take place during this year. The family consists of father Zlatko, mother Sanja and the children Dusan (14), Andrijana (9), Teodora (5), Pavle (4) and Mladen (2).

The house in which family Nikolic lives

The house in which family Nikolic lives is a donation from the people of good will who donated the house at the beginning of this year. Parents Zlatko and Sanja are not employed and the family is receiving the social care in the amount of 11,000 RSD and child benefit in the amount of 10,000 RSD.

The spot on the house in which we plan to set the door

and build a bathroom

Father Zlatko is working for a wage occasionally in order to contribute to the humble family budget. The greatest problem for the Nikolic family is a lack of bathroom in the house and we plan to build a bathroom in the place of the tin shack which will be of greatest usage for the youngest ones. The Nikolic family has a great desire to engage in farming, to be precise in hog raising because they can start small production in their 10 ares of land. We call upon all the people of good will to get involved and donate in order to help the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs with the aim of helping the socially disadvantaged multiple children Serbian families throughout Balkan. ALL TOGETHER TO HELP STOJKOVIC FAMILY

In mid-February, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs visited the four member Stojkovic family living in extreme poverty in the village Partes in Kosovo and Metohija (Gnjilane Municipality). The family consists of the single father Milorad and the children: Tamara (8), Milos (7), and Jelena (6). The mother left the family when the youngest child was only a year and a half old, and soon afterwards, she committed suicide. Despite growing up in very hard conditions, the children are well behaved and cheerful. Their father does his best to provide them with basic necessities; he is hard working, but he needs support. In such circumstances, we often witnessed cases where the father has alcohol issues, but that was not the case with Milorad Stojkovic. We were pleasantly surprised by his soberness, his love for his children and strong will to remain in Kosovo and Metohija.

The family lives on child and Kosovo benefit, which is not enough for raising three children, but the father also keeps chickens and tries to provide basic necessities, despite walking difficulties and hard living conditions. It is the aid in better living conditions that is the most urgent. The hall and two rooms on the first floor need to be reconstructed to make them fully functional, and the family needs new furniture, because the furniture they now have was taken from a junk yard and is in very bad condition.

Tamara and Jelena Stojkovic with their friend

In mid-May, 5,841 Canadian Dollars were raised at Palačinka party in Mississauga (Canada) to help the Stojkovic family. Around 10,000 Euros are needed in order to realize the project. The plan is to collect the remaining amount of money during the spring and summer, so the construction works could begin in the summer. Thus we would provide healthier and nicer growing up for the youngest Stojkovcs.

Single father Milorad

We call upon all people of good will to get involved and through their contributions help the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, which aim at helping socially disadvantaged Serbian multiple children families throughout the Balkans.

NEW AID FOR VELIKA HOCA IN KOSOVO

At the end of May, as part of the big Easter action, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs delivered valuable aid to families with children, living in Velika Hoca village in Kosovo and Metohija. The aid consisted of purchasing a corn harvester, which will be used by Velika Hoca residents. The value of the delivered corn harvester is 568,000 Dinars, and the biggest part of the sum was donated by the parishioners of the Saint Sava Church from Flemington, Sydney, Australia.

Thanks to donors and friends, the Charity organization SERBS FOR SERBS will continue with active support in conducting charity as well as economic projects intended for helping the Serbian people throughout Kosovo and Metohija, in order to provide a promising future for the remaining Serbian people in this sacred but troubled Serbian territory. At the same time, the organization SERBS FOR SERBS calls upon all state institutions, public and private companies and other charity associations to SUPPORT FUTURE PROJECTS of our organization, which will contribute to a better and more prosperous future of the Serbian people, above all socially disadvantaged families and their offspring.

The organization SERBS FOR SERBS will certainly continue to carry out this and similar projects, primarily in cooperation with the NGO “Majka devet Jugovica”, as well as with other fraternal charity organizations worldwide, which aim at making socially disadvantaged families financially independent by creating possibilities for work, production and selling of agricultural products in Kosovo and Metohija. AID FOR POPOVIC FAMILY FROM R.SRPSKA

At the end of May, the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs helped the six-member Popovic family from the village of Branesci, which is 25 kilometers away from Celinac in the Republic of Srpska. The family consists of the parents, Milenko and Slavka, and their four children: Ilijana (20), Milijana (18), Gojko (17), and Bojana (15). With the big help and good will of donors, we managed to reach our goal and provide the Popovics with tractor attachments to the value of 4,000 BAM. This action made the family richer by five attachments (hay baler, seeder, plow, harrow and waterpump for field irrigation).

We first visited the Popovic family at the beginning of the year and we then saw that they have no regular monthly income. Father Milenko occasionally earns a daily wage doing seasonal work. A few years ago, he took out a loan and bought a tractor, but with no attachments, because he did not have enough money. He borrowed or hired attachments to cultivate his fields and support the family. He seeds corn and potato, which enables him to earn some more money for the family.

Valuable aid for hard-working householder

Milenko Popovic

We had helped the Popovics by purchasing seed, and afterwards we came to the idea of purchasing the attachments to make work easier for the family. At the same time, with new attachments, Milenko could earn some extra money cultivating fields in the nearby villages.

Popovic with donated tractor attachments

Great happiness and joy could be seen on their faces when they finally saw the attachments beside their house, because up until that moment they did not believe that they would really get the aid.Milenko and his family would like to thank all donors who have enabled them to cultivate fields using their own machinery, and as he said, no more begging around the village to borrow the needed attachments. We call upon all people of good will to get involved and through their contributions help the projects of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, which aim at helping socially disadvantaged Serbian multiple children families throughout the Balkans.

SFS VISITED STRAJNIC FAMILY FROM KAC

In the course of May, to the request of workers from the Center for Social work Novi Sad, representatives of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs visited the Strajnic family from Kac. The family consists of the mother Gordana, and her children: Stefan (12), Jelena (14), Jovana (16), and Dusan (18). Up until recently Zora (22) also lived with them, but she got married. Gordana is the single mother of five. Her husband passed away last year after a short illness. Her trouble is big and only Gordana knows how she deals with it, receiving only 15,000 Dinars of welfare. Trouble never comes alone - apart from the father’s illness, the family lives in very poor conditions. Their electricity has been cut off due to debt which is not big, but it has mounted up due to interests. Their house has never had water supply, and they pump the water from a well.

Problems do not end there – a part of their house has collapsed, especially the back part, where there used to be a stable and was moist all the time. Good people from Novi Sad and socially responsible companies showed how humane they are at the “Trojka iz Bloka” tournament held on May 28, 2016, and raised 247,520 Dinars for the Strajnic family. This is enough to build the bathroom, but we should not build the bathroom and wait for the rest of the house to collapse on the heads of Strajnic family members.

Strajnic family house in which they currently live

We need YOUR help! Apart from building the bathroom and supplying the house with water, the back part of the house should be knocked down and a new gable built to prevent further collapsing. Also, windows should be replaced, two rooms should be reconstructed (screed, laminate, plasterwork…) and they need new furniture, since theirs is unusable.

There is not enough time for all the things listed, because winter is the deadline after which there will be nothing left to reconstruct. PLEASE SUPPORT US! Let us help Stefan, Jelena, Jovana and Dusan see happier days with their mother in their home.

SFS CANADA – PALACINKA PARTY 2016

On Sunday, May 15 th , Serbs for Serbs Canada hosted its 3rd annual palačinka party at the Serbian Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Over 300 people sampled delicious palačinke, mingled with friends and came out to support a worthy cause: to raise money for a family in-need. Thanks to the generosity of donors, $5841.00 was raised at the party to help Milorad Stojkovic, a single father of three (Tamara, 8; Milos, 7; and Jelena, 6) from the village Partes, Gnjilane, Kosovo & Мetohia. The money raised at the palačinka party, plus an extra $2,600.00 previously collected from slavas, and other general donations received this year, means SFS Canada is sending $8,441.00 to improve the Stojkovic family's living conditions.

Organizing an event is a team effort...and our team was outstanding. Thanks to the army of volunteers, from kitchen help to the clean-up crew, the operation ran like clockwork.

Special thanks to our parish priests for their support, the St. Sava Church Board for use of the hall, and to the Sisters for use of the kitchen. A special "hvala" to our generous sponsors and supporters:

• Dana Miscevic • Radio Program Ravna Gora

(Branka & Milenko Djurovic) • Novine (Ivana Djordjevic) • Vesti (Gorana Gligorevic) • SerbianTorontoTV

(Milan Cobanov – producer) • SAN (Vesna Nedic) • Tomas Makacek – Photography • Nemanja Trbojevic – Video • John Lukich -- A/V

The palačinka party was cause for celebration on another front, when SFS Canada's President, Angelina Racic, announced that just days ago Serbs for Serbs Canada received notice that it is now a registered charity in

Canada. This new status will go a long way in helping the fundraising initiatives of the organization.

A winning combination Serbs and palačinke are a winning combination. We invite Serbs from other communities to organize their own fundraising events on behalf of Serbs for Serbs. Who knows? Perhaps Hamilton, Windsor, Whitby, Niagara Falls, Kitchener/Waterloo palačinke are tastier than those in Mississauga!!! One thing is certain... the more money we raise, the more money we donate, the louder our message will be to our people struggling back home that we see them, hear them and haven't forgotten them.

We look forward to hosting the 4 th annual Palačinka Party in 2017. WHEN SERBS COME TOGETHER, GOOD THINGS HAPPEN. ZIVELI!

Second in a row football derby between Partizan and RedStarfans was held on May 9, 2016, at the stadium of FC Loznica. „TROJKA IZ BLOKA“ HELD IN RASKA

On Thursday, May 19, at 6 PM, the first Trojka iz Bloka tournament was held in Raska, with 55 participants, and together with sponsors, 56,530 Dinars were raised! Charity organization Serbs for Serbs and Raska Municipality, with the blessing of the Djurdjevi Stupovi Monastery, organized the sports-charity project with the mission of bathroom construction for the Tokalic family. At 6 PM the anthem of the Republic of Serbia was intoned, and all the people present at the Bane sports hall stood up and greeted the flag of the country whose foundations are in this ancient town. In the sports spirit, at the sports field, people of good will gathered in their town for the first time to show that they care for their socially disadvantaged neighbors! The youngest and the oldest stood up and greeted the flag of the Republic of Serbia, but they also stood up in the name of brotherly love to proudly show that they are going to help their neighbors.

The beautiful gathering was blessed by Father Gerasim, the prior of the Djurdjevi Stupovi Monastery, with his prayer, addressing the hall full of people with the most joyous Christian greeting – Christ is Risen! He pointed out that the biggest winners of the tournament in Raska are the Tokalic little ones, and that Christ is a winner in all places where people gather for brotherly love and helping their neighbors. After the word of Father Gerasim, Zoran Nikolic, president of Sports Association of Raska Municipality, thanked the prior of the Djurdjevi Stupovi for the lovely greeting, and also thanked the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs for the initiative and the realization of its biggest project.

Father Gerasim opening the tournament

“Great idea was recognized by Raska Municipality and the result was a large number of visitors and a big aid project intended for the Tokalic family”, Nikolic pointed out. Spokesman for the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs and the Trojka iz Bloka manager, Milos Simovic, welcomed the first tournament in Raska and wished the mission of the Trojka iz Bloka to last for many years to come, so that many families could get a better future with the help of their good neighbors! He pointed out the previous successful actions of the Charity organization Serbs for Serbs, and after that invited Father Gerasim to officially open the tournament with a solemn 3-point shot. The court was then taken over by the best 3-point shooters from Raska, and the microphone was taken over by the best rappers of the young generation in Serbia and the region – THC La Familija. The sporting event at the Bane sports hall was a real spectacle! Raska showed that apart from great and rich history, it also has big-hearted people who are ready to unite and fight for a better future of their socially disadvantaged neighbors! Humanity and sport and fun during break time reached a peak when guys from THC La Familija and Uncle Jo rapped their songs.

„TROJKA IZ BLOKA“ HELD IN NIS

The third Trojka iz Blokatournament in Nis was held on May 22, and this time, 117 shooters and three proud sponsors raised 51,130 Dinars for a brighter future of their neighbors! 25,130 Dinars were raised from participation fees, and Skyhosting, KafanaGalija and 1x2 Barbar sponsored the project with 26,000 Dinars! This way, Nis residents once again showed that people’s suffering cannot leave them indifferent. On the contrary – it gathers them around solving the problem! A large number of visitors complemented the impression, and once again the urban music scene from Nis performed for the humane people.

They performed together with THC La Familija, Furio Djunta, Mali Mire, Demonio and Uncle JO, and the tournament was opened with the anthem of the Republic of Serbia sung by Todor Kitanovic, a student of “Sveti Sava” primary school, which was once again the host of the sports-charity project Trojka iz Bloka.

We have already written about the Stevanovic family, and now we are waiting to finish what we have started and to announce the new success in Nis.
