Masters Message By WB John Allen
Greetings from the East I sincerely hope that this finds all members of our craft and their families hap-py, well and blessed. I would like to thank every one who came to the memorial for Tren-na Otis, VWB Lance Otis's dearly departed wife. It was a very moving and wonderful tribute
to an extraordinary woman. Heartfelt prayers and condolences to the family. I am looking forward to the ensuing year and the FUN ac-tivities we are planning. Starting off with ladies game night that will be immediately after dinner of our May stated meeting It is hoped a lot of ladies will attend while the men are in lodge. The purpose is two-fold: to provide fellowship and entertainment for the ladies and to increase lodge par-ticipation by the men. Kind of a family night out if you will. You won't want to miss this as Lady Leticia and I will be preparing a scrumptious meal consisting of her famous beef stroganoff made with prime rib and fresh mushrooms and home-made Caesar salad with all the trimmings, no bottled stuff here! We are taking suggestions on the types of activities the lady's would like to see at this event . We hope this is a success and will continue to have it at every stated meet-ing night. If any of the Brethren are concerned about driving at night, please contact me and I will arrange transportation to and from. Again looking forward to serving all of you as Worship-ful Master. Please feel free to contact me with any ques-tions, concerns or ideas to keep this lodge strong. Fraternally, WB John Allen

From the West By Bro George Llewellyn Jr.
Here it is March already, and we still have flowers growing outside, talk about living in Paradise! Appreciating the wonders and beauty of the Universe by looking around us at the amazing things in nature, gives one much to think about in our spiritual, evolutionary, and Masonic growth as well. March will be one of those great learning opportunity months with the Wardens conference being held mid month in Pasco, WA. Having gone last year for the first time gives
me some added insight into what to expect and look forward to this year. For our Lodge, the now functional sound amplification system should make our meetings much more enjoyable for most of us with less than the best of hearing. I know how frustrating it has been for many to not be able to hear what is going on. Another great topic being discussed and planned for this year is an education-al theme geared for us “rusty” Masons; those of us who have many years behind us since being initiated, but perhaps, like me, some very lengthy intervals of inactivity. Trying to remember all the early experiences from initiation on can be a challenge, especially now getting into Lodge leadership, or even the door. It is hoped that our members will find Lodge activity of greater interest now, and attend more often. If rides would be helpful, please call, or discuss with some-one in the Lodge, to let us help facilitate that need. Visiting other nearby Lodges is also a great activity for both our growth, and the support of our neighboring Lodges. Fraternally yours, Bro George Llewellyn Fraternally, George Llewellyn
From the South By Bro Heath P LaPorte
Greetings from the south brethren, I hope you all are safe and warm during this lovely winter weather. Brother George and I will be attending the leadership retreat and I’m looking forward to experiences and to the gains in knowledge. I’m told the things we learn are very beneficial to our lodge so I’m excited. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the eastern star. I unfortunately do not have the time to cook the meals this year and
the star does a wonderful job with the diners. I am grateful for them and I surely hope you all are as well. I hope to see more brothers at the stated meeting, as your officers we appreciate the support...or at least come tell us the words we missed! Either way it’s nice to see you all. Fraternally, brother Heath

Greetings! 2017 Audits: The verification of sound recordkeeping and ac-counting practices is essential to the wellbeing of every Lodge. Annual Washington Masonic Code directed Lodge audits have been completed. Overall the auditors have determined that our Lodge is being well managed. Any auditor-noted shortcomings are being corrected and auditor recommendations are being considered by your Lodge leadership. To all those “volunteer” auditors – a hearty thanks to you for your service to our Lodge. Lewis Jewel: There are several inquiries about this Jewel. This
Jewel is worn by sons who are Masons in honor of their Masonic heritage. Within this Trestle Board is an Order Form to be filled out for those interested. Please note recog-nition extends to fathers, grandfathers, great and great-great grandfathers. All orders must be submitted through the Lodge secretary. I’ll be happy to help you complete the information necessary to obtain this Jewel. District 11 Activities/Events: There are many goings-on within our District. Check out their beautiful, user-friendly website at www.bluelodge-wa.org/dist11. The calendar gives you the reported events of DEMA Lodges as well as Concordant Bod-ies. Those who are interested in Historical Masonry be sure and check out Pietre-Stones Review of Freemasonry listed within Links of the DEMA Directory. Research with the Review makes great Lodge and Concordant Bodies educational features. Lodge Contact: The Lodge telephone number is 360.504.1180. When no one is avail-able to take your call, just leave a message on our voicemail – we will return your call. Our Lodge email address is [email protected]. Emails are always re-sponded to. Moral Philosopher Daniel Webster’s definition of Philos Sophas = loves learn-ing, wise. who devotes himself to the study of moral and in-tellectual science, one who conforms his life to the principles of philosophy, one who lives according to reason and rules of practical wisdom. From The Washington Monitor: Freemasonry is a course of Moral and Philosophical instruction, illustrated by hiero-
glyphics and taught according to ancient usages, by types, emblems and allegorical figures. We hear at every stated meeting: “What came ye here to do”? The reply “To Learn to subdue my passions and improve myself in Masonry.” Brother’s I have heard or recited those words for many years in my adventure of Freemasonry. It was not until I was honored with the adventure of teaching a class and receiving the support of the members who attended, that my journey as a Philos-opher started. The words and phrases I had spoken so often throughout the years took on a mean-ing and understanding which led to knowing. For example G became Geometry and made me realize the entire universe is held together in geometric patterns that form our material universe. Scientists today can measure electronic waveforms of energy radiating from the mind while thinking. Masaru Emoto has proven that, while in a 28° laboratory, he projects the thought of Love into a glass of water, and the most beautiful exotic crystal forms which you can pick up and carry across the room, and set it upon the table. Thus proves the point “be careful what you say,” when you cast your bread upon the water it shall return unto you.” Consider this brothers: as we become that moral philosopher strolling up the winding staircase of 3, 5 and 7 steps, comprehending the 7 liberal arts and sciences of grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, geometry, and astronomy, we will be able to advance into the Sanctum Sanctorum or Holy of Holies and hear the words “Welcome Home Son.” Something to think about Thank you Brothers for starting me on my philosophers journey. When and Why Did Rainbow Begin?
In 1922, Rainbow was created for young women
whose fathers were members of the Masonic Lodge, and
their friends. Although a Christian minister named W. Mark
Sexson founded the organization, today the leaders of Rainbow Girls respect and
welcome all girls from every religion. Their main focus is more on the spiritual prin-
ciples of being a kind and caring person. While the Rainbow practices and programs
continue to evolve, the basic teachings of faith, hope, and charity remain a corner-
stone of this dynamic girl’s youth group.
Adults are always present to provide support, guidance, and help interpret the
rules. All Rainbow adults are vetted through one of the most stringent background
checks that state and federal law enforcement can offer.
Whether they dream of becoming a successful veterinarian, a talented musician, or a
loving mother, Rainbow Girls learn that they can accomplish anything and that they
can make a difference. Rainbow strives to give girls the tools, training, and encour-
agement to let their individual spirits shine bright. By providing members with a
safe, fun, caring environment, responsible, older girls can interact and mentor
younger girls through family involvement.
