PASTOR’S REFLECTIONS

It is remarkable how fast this summer has flown by. Fall activities are just around the corner as we continue to live as the

people of God in this place. It is good to regularly pause and reflect on what we are doing as individuals and a

congregation, and to listen for God’s guidance and direction. Our dinner and conversation on Saturday, September 12 at

5:00 is one way to do this. We hope that you can join us. In the meantime, consider why you live out your faith in the

way that you do and what you do to show God’s love to others.

“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future

with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. “Jeremiah 29: 11-12.

THE LIGHT SIDE

Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, ‘My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him $50.’ The second boy says, ‘That’s nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on piece of paper, he calls it a song, and they give him $100.’ The third boy says, ‘I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to collect all the money!’
