We had some excitement on Wednesday , September 14,around 10am. The Hancock County courthouse in Green-field was evacuated after police said an employee received acall indicating there was a bomb inside the building.

The Greenfield Police Department, Hancock County SheriffsDepartment and Indiana State Police responded to the sceneshortly after 10 a.m.

Bomb-sniffing dogs did search the building.

No bomb device has been found.

Streets surrounding the courthouse were closedtemporarily.

Nearby businesses have been notified about the inci-dent. Some businesses have evacuated, although police saidit is not mandatory because no device has been found.

We took an early lunch.
