Come Grow With Us! Ensemble on ira loin!.................................
It is with joy and enthusiasm the school year has started. We have a
wonderful group of students who brighten the halls and whose laughter
rings throughout classrooms, hallways and the playground. Staff worked
diligently over the summer preparing classrooms, planning lessons and cre-
ating engaging learning environments.
Based upon feedback received from parents last year, we are not hosting a meet the
teacher evening this month. Instead, we will be sending out an interim report card on
October 19 and inviting you in for brief interveiws on October 25. Should you desire to
contact your child(ren)'s teachers, all email addresses are: [email protected].
See page 2 of the newsletter for our staff list. A complete list of Pioneer’s staff can
also be found on our webpage.
Our school council meets regularly at noon on the third Monday of the month. Our next
meeting will be on October 15.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bobbie-Jo Douglas
Principal
Welcome to back to school!

“NUT SAFE” ZONE
Just a reminder that Pi-
oneer School has several
students with life
threatening peanut and
nut allergies. We appre-
ciate your co-operation with keeping our
school a safe environment for all students.
Early Arrival
Unless your child is participating in a school
sponsored event that requires his/her early
attendance, we ask that you do not bring
students to school prior to 8:15 am. This is
to ensure your child's safety as we do not
have supervision until that time.

BAND NEWS
Cont….
Grade 7/8 BAND Reminders……………….
Grade 7 and 8 band students are encouraged
to bring in a blank CD-R. Beginning the first
week of October, I will record all the reper-
toire that we will be playing for students to
use for at home practicing. This is a fabulous
tool and it is my hope that all the students
take advantage of this.
Reeds are to be purchased by the BOX by
Grade 7 and 8 students. Reeds are expected
at every band class to ensure full participa-
tion.
Instruments are to taken out of the band
class at the end of each day. Practicing is
part of the band mark and instruments are
safer at home than at school.
No instrument is allowed in the band room
without a name on it. Please be sure your
child’s instrument is labeled.
Practice Records
Practice records for September were sent
home the first week. These are due by Oct.
10th. Student’s whose music is not prepared
for class or who do not hand in practice rec-
ords will spend noon hour practice time with
Ms. Hastings.
