The Next Generation Pedestrian Detection AidVision Plus™ provides the operator of mobile equipment with real-time information concerning the location and tracking ofpedestrians in the operating area around the equipped vehicle. Mobileye's unique artificial vision technology enables theVision Plus™ system to ignore non-pedestrian obstacles significantly reducing the number of alarms to the operator and tobystanders. This functionality, unique to the Vision Plus™ system, ensures that only the most important information isprovided to the operator. Ergonomic display of information both audibly and visually, industrial grade camera enclosuresand hardware, and state of the art sensor-less, tag-less technology combine to provide a pedestrian detection aid that willadd to the operator's practice of clearing the area with direct vision.

Requires No Device or Tagto be worn by the pedestrianApplications which require the use of mobileindustrial equipment often also require operation inthe same areas as pedestrians.  The operator of theequipment must know the location of pedestrians atall times while remaining productive andaccomplishing his job.  Vision Plus™ can aid anoperator in this most important task without theneed for tags or devices on the pedestrians.

As pedestrians enter into the coverage area, anaudible and visual alarm is provided to the operator.Next, Vision Plus™ begins to track the pedestriansand predict their paths.  Vehicle tracking andpedestrian tracking are combined to determinepotential collisions.  If a collision is predicted, alarmintensity increases, notifying the operator of thiscrucial information. (See figure A)

Vision Plus™ continues to monitor pedestrians andtheir paths until the pedestrians are no longer withinthe coverage area. (See figure B)  An internal warningsystem utilizing vehicle speed, vehicle direction,and pedestrian location aims to reduce warnings tothe operator making the warnings more effective.

The Vision Plus™ system is unique to other obstacle detection systems currently available for mobile industrial equipment.  Vision Plus™ candistinguish pedestrians from all other objects, track the movement of pedestrians, and provide this functionality without the requirement of tags ortransmitters worn by the pedestrians. (See figure C) This technology aids equipment operators in clearing the area of pedestrians potentially avoidingdevastating accidents.
