Kinds of treatments

Psychotherapy

Insight Therapy- helps people better understand their behaviors. With the information they have been given they might be able to change their behaviors.

Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy- helps a person identify situations, objects, or thoughts that trigger abnormal behaviors. The goal is to develop new behaviors.

Group Therapy- people meet other people with the similar disorders. The group members work together to develop new coping skills.

drugs relieve symptoms and normal behavior can begin.

Hospitalization- Sometimes people with mental disorders need constant

supervision or are a danger to themselves and/or others. The patients receive therapy in the hospital. The staff helps patients prepare to leave the hospital. After the patients return home, sometimes social workers will come and check on them.
