WEIGHT- IS IT A PROBLEM??? Overweight and obesity are significant and increasing
public health challenges in both economically developed and developing regions of the world, with 33.0% of the world's adult population (1.3 billion people) overweight or obese in 2005. (Kelly T,2008)
Moreover, if recent trends continue, by 2030 up to 57.8% of the world's adult population (3.3 billion people) could be either overweight or obese. (Kelly T,2008)
Epidemiologic studies indicate that overweight and obesity are important risk factors for diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and premature death. (Haslam D, James P.2005)

IS IT ALL ABOUT FAT ??? We all need some fat. The problem is that many people
carry too much fat - 30% or more. Did you know that for health and weight maintenance,
you should aim to keep your fat levels ideally between 20 to 25 percent? And the other 70 + percent of the body would then be made up of - lean body mass which are muscles, bones, organs and water.
Excess fat is from diet, from improper exercise. Unless you exercise, keeping your fat levels between 20
and 25 percent becomes a losing battle for most people. A combination of the natural aging process and inactivity
causes many of us, on average, to lose about 5 pounds of muscle every decade.
