Creating the motivation for change requires both push and pull
strategies

Push strategies involve • Challenge reality• Asking, “What do I
want to move away from?”
And• “Is this important
enough to move away from?”
Pull strategies involve:• Awakening a vision
of what you wantAsking, “What do I
want?And
• “Is this enough to make me want to move toward it?

Motivating for change involves creating powerful meanings to change the present
and realize a compelling future
Think of a change you want to make
• Why do you want to change? What
are you gaining from keeping
things as they are? How do you
feel about that?
• What do you want to create when
you change? What do you want to
have or be? What does this mean
to you? How do you feel about
that??

Lack of motivation often feels like procrastination, a lack of drive, and
“stuckness”
