What “Seasons” are

The seasons we speak of here are changes in the weather involving mostly changes in temperature.

In the “Tropics,” between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn on Earth, the Sun is nearly always overhead these seasons do not happen

Instead they have “Wet” and “Dry” Seasons

The Reasons for SeasonsIt is the axial tilt of the Earth that causes the seasons,

not the shape of Earth’s orbit. The Earth’s orbit is an ellipse but the differences in

distance to the sun are not great enough to cause the seasons.

We have already noted that the Earth’s tilt makes the day is longer during the summer this too does not cause enough of a difference in total solar energy delivered to cause the seasons

The True cause of the Seasons is the angle with which light from the Sun strikes the ground.

In summer the sun is more nearly overhead. Its rays are spread out over a smaller area than in winter when they come in at a low angle.

Thus in summer there is more light from the sun per square foot…making the weather warmer

Predicting the SeasonWithout a calendar, How would you know when

to plant crops?Keep track of where the Sun is relative to the

Zodiac you will know when the seasons are coming!

For this reason ancient people all over the world have built structures from Stonehenge tp Mayan Observatories

Those who knew how to use (usually priests) them wielded great power over.
