Lead business analyst for the MicroStrategy Vendor Contribution and Vendor Trade Agreement reporting for Finance and Merchandising which are used to negotiate trade agreements with our vendor community. Reporting includes yeartoyear and periodtoperiod allowance usage by major category as well as drilldown detail reporting to investigate opportunities, such as off invoice deals, scanbacks, billbacks, damage and defective, marketing and advertising funds, cash terms, freight allowances, etc.

SAP S4/HANA Simple Finance IT Finance Process Lead for the coordination of system integration and configuration assessment necessary to support BPC 10.1 Financial reporting like P&L, Period Close, Year End, Balance Sheets, SAP’s Finance Closing Cockpit Tool, and other financial reporting. All work to date has been focused on the building of highlevel business requirements, AsIs vs ToBe, RFPs, evaluations, onsite demos, vendor scoring, and offsite customer interviews with other industry leaders, like Publix and H.E.B. I was part of a business and technical team to assess system integrators which included SAP, Accenture, CapGemini, and IBM, in which Accenture was selected.

Additionally, led a parallel SAPcompatible Sales and Use Tax software vendor evaluation on a fasttrack with vendors such as Vertex, Taxware, and Thomson Reuters Onesource. RFI,

RFP, and RFQ documents have been submitted. Vendor scorecarding was used during onsite demos to determine Vertex as the clear leader for Indirect Tax with SAP.

Lead ITS business analyst for a corporate Digital Workplace project to provide employees the ability to access their most critical digital applications and capabilities on any device, at any time, and at any place. The ultimate goal is to streamline employee communication and collaboration on 80% of their topofmind digital work. The Dynamic Workplace is a product of a new serviceoriented architecture and development framework that includes a registry of web services that can be leveraged with the SAP Finance project, updated Mobile Device Management, Office365, OneDrive, SharePoint, PowerBI, and Project Server along with establishing a new support and governance model. I conducted the UX/UI interviews with a pilot team of Human Resource, Real Estate and Property, Legal, IT, and Corporate Communication executives. These interviews informed our requirement wireframes and underwent a round of usability interviews with the same pilot team. I have been responsible for the business requirements, negotiating scope against capabilities, mapping requirements to the evolving reference architecture, and entering the final requirements into TFS for the development team to begin the build.

Managed the creation of a Teradata Corporate Tax Data Mart for Sales Tax state return filing and audit reporting. In addition to the data mart, an operational tax application was designed and built in SQL Server, DB2, Datastage, and .NET which allows the tax department to maintain tax rates, jurisdictions, and legal entities; import inventory, purchase orders, and sales history data; selfassess taxes on an exception basis; and generate dynamic tax return reporting.

Project Lead for a mobile Business Intelligence application for Sales and Margin Performance and the first mobile BI reporting tool at Meijer. The reporting devices and form factors are the iPad, iPhone, and Web Desktop. The requirements were gathered through a highly iterative storyboarding process with several prototypes, allowing the business stakeholders and sponsors to effectively select the desired BI solution based on visual and interactive feedback. For this project, an Agile approach was most effective as the business community was anxious to see results and test performance on our devices in the retail stores. To achieve success, our team included the EDW Business Delivery team consisting of data modelers, DBAs, and Datastage ETL developers. One of our critical design requirements was to deliver high availability and fast performance with daily SLAs for timely, accurate, and actionable enterprise data. We achieved this by optimizing our Teradata views, optimizing our MicroStrategy cubes, adjusting schedules, and changing UI components for rendering optimization. Project resources involved onshore and offshore contractors, data architecture and technical teams, the enterprise management team, thirdparty data suppliers (Planalytics), and business stakeholders. The tools and practices necessary to achieve our project’s success resulted in new procedures for ITS groups as we trialtested and implemented a MDM solution, an internal “App Catalog”, new app deployment processes, and a mobile VPN tool. Key decision makers in the company can now effectively analyze business patterns and trends and make informed decisions based on yearoveryear retail sales of both same store and total store, planned sales, customer counts, scanned units, direct margin, promotional events, and even weather comparisons. Continuing on from the Finance mobile Sales and Margin project, I managed the delivery of a set of Fresh Shrink BI dashboards and iPad mobile apps to the store retail operations Perishable “Fresh” teams and retail operations leadership teams which also included Asset Protection and Perishable Merchandising. The goals of this project were to share the same metrics that Finance uses with the store teams and to give them a critical, intuitive tool for

them to discover opportunities to reduce shrink in the fresh departments, like Meat, Deli, Bakery, Produce, etc. This is the first MicroStrategy mobile application given to our 200+ stores at Meijer, and it has been quickly adopted and used by both store and corporate users. Project lead for a CRM implementation which involved enhancements to the POS systems and integration with our thirdparty direct mail partner, Experian (CheetahMail), and analytics partner, Datamann, Inc. This was the first step towards EMS implementing a formal Loyalty program. With the assistance of two Loyalty business consultants, we evaluated and defined what the “EMS Rewards” Loyalty program was going to be. Following this, we interviewed and evaluated several Loyalty partners. After a lengthy and careful selection process, we partnered with Smart Button (now Aimia) to develop a unique and competitive EMS Loyalty program which was able to integrate with our recent CRM implementation and customer sales capture process.

Project managed a mobile iPad kiosk solution for our store guides to use in their sales conversation. With a tight schedule of three weeks, we were able to launch a comprehensive iPad mobile retail app to our NYC and Long Island stores utilizing Global Bay’s (VeriFone) application building tool. Within the first three weeks, EMS saw a 35% increase in mobile sales; and enhanced features continued by adding interactive catalogs and promotional opportunities. EMS was in the process of deploying to all of their stores in Q1 of 2012. Successfully managed the creation and implementation of a webbased content management solution for the marketing and merchandising departments that utilized a rolebased business process workflow for EMS retail product assortment planning for upcoming seasons. The technologies used were Alfresco ECM, Apache Tomcat, Linux, MySQL, and an ESB from Information Builders. The application allows multiple groups to perform their part of the process by completing their content contributions and ultimately automating that content to our ecommerce vendor for the www.ems.com website.

Gathered business requirements, built functional design documents, translated to technical specifications for the consultant, our data architect, and others, evaluated several vendors both opensource and managed services, selected consultants, built the database and stored procedures, and managed the cost, scope, and quality baselines throughout the project. Prepared the UAT and used HPQC for conducting the test cases.

Advocated for, advised, and implemented a SaaS project management solution, www.clarizen.com, for our ecommerce, direct marketing, and content management teams to better manage their resources across a difficult terrain of weekly and seasonal promotion needs for the stores, the web, and special events, like the Nor’easter. Clarizen is a creation of exClarity developers.
