Science Week Program is an annual celebration of science in Manado Independent School, an opportunity for the student to show and practice their talents, skills and abilities in dealing fun activities and experiments. In this years theme focus on !Making waves the science of light!. "ll grade level of the middle section prepared for the di#erent activities. "s one of the organi$ers, I deal more on the selected students of % th grade as they prepare for the Walk of &ame, the student must look like the glimpse of the selected scientist by imitating the way their hair or how they dress. 'hey should share their contribution in science as well. "ll % th grade sing an intermission number titled ! Photosynthesis Song!, this song tells us hew the sun transfer its energy to the plants and how the plants use the energy to manufacture food. 'here are experiment indoor and outdoor presentation lead by Ma am Ingrit and Ma am Mary "nn, like water rocket, smoothie fountain, lava lamp and magic boat. Ms. Melisa was the in(charge for all the )*(art and optical phenomena exhibit held in the gallery for free picture taking in a whole week. 'h e ac ti vi ty r uns we ll l as t +o ve mb er -, - /. I t s starte d wi th t he o ut do or w at er rocket competition. "ll middle school students gather close to the soccer 0eld to witness the water rocket experiment handle with the % th grade of Maam Ingrit ' olon g. I t wa s pa rtic ip ated b y cl as s %" , %1 , %1 , and %2. 2lass % " g arne rs t he 0rst followed by class %1 and the last is the class %2. "fter this activity, all students proceed to +ew "uditorium for the remaining program. 3e$ia Sarah and 4avier of %1 make the program lively as they host the program. 'he program opened with the warm welcome remark of Maam Melisa followed by a video of 5l 6amma Penumbra group using their shadow in forming a story out of the shadow. 6amma and Penumbra comes from two 7atin words roughly translates to !the ray of light! 8behind9 a man s shadow. "fter that, there are : students from the % th grade ;oin in the walk of fame, representing some famous scientist such as Isaac +ewton, Marie 2urie, 'homas "lva 5dison, <oseph Priestly, <ane 6oodall and many more. &ollowed by the photosynthesis song of all grades % in which all audience en;oy the song by singing with them. 'he last parts of the program are the experiments of the grade =", =1, and =2 lead by Ma am Mary "nn. Maam Mary "nn close the program by leaving a famous >uotation from "lbert 5instein saying ! " theory can be proved by experiment? but no path leads from experiment to the birth of a theory .
