About APD

• Auditory processing disorder effects 5% of the children in school, kids that have auditory processing disorder or APD cant hear and process things as well as others.

• People that have APD they’re brain and there ears not work together to process things.

More Facts!

• People with APD are easily distracted with loud noises.

• It is hard to tell if a child with an LD, it is easier to notice when the child has stared school.

• It is mostly a ear problem. • It’s not very noticeable. • People that have APD cam also have

behavior problems.

No cure

• Just like any disability APD can not be cured. People with APD can learn to cope with it. There is no way to over come APD or any learning disability (LD)

• If someone has an LD that doesn't effect there social life. There are many actors, singers, and athletes with learning problems.

It’s a family thing

• APD is genetic. The same thing with learning disability if your parents or if your grandma or grandpa has or hade it, you may too

How it is diagnosed

• Here are some ways to see if you or some one you know have APD.

• Do loud sounds upset you?

• Do you have reading, writing, or speaking problems?

• Is it hard to follow a conversation?

• Are word problems confusing?
