Just Light Schrder has the ability to tackle gii quytcomplex lighting projects, by a full employment of thecompany capabilities:

designdirect collaboration with architects, designers and

professionals in lighting for the definition of all theplanning aspects.

customizationdevelopment of luminaires designed for specificapplications completely studied internally by designers, mechanical and electronic engineers, photometrictechnicians, architects and physicists.

control systemcomplete design and of the lighting system, includingtelemanagement, such as conveyed waves (truyn sng),DMX 512 and RS 485 communication protocols.

Possible combination with sensors or other interactiveelements.Integration between lighting and digital controllingsystems, extending the possibility of creative effectsthrough the introduction of color management, dimmingintensity and tuning (iu chnh) of white.

The Just Light Schrder project approach is founded on thedevelopment of all the planning steps in strict partnershipwith architects and lighting designers.

The first phase starts with the project analysis, made up by the preliminary s b plan, focused onthe lighting concept.

    Art, Science andEngineering

The second phase is based on the drafting of thedefinitive plan, defining the final design of products, luminaire positioning, cabling layout and controlsystem.

At last the final phase, that is the working plan, including on-site installation, pre and final tests, programming and after-sale assistance.

In contemporary hin nay usage, the term GeniusLocirefers to a location's distinctive atmosphere, or to the

protective spirit of a place, issued from the classical Romanreligion.

Just Light Schrder develops every single project by takinginto account the genius loci of the location and themultitude of its aspects to be able to create visions withmeaning, respecting its original character, to create acomplete harmony with its essential nature. Lighting ofexternal spaces in contemporary societies arises as a verycomplex aspect of the project, that needs specificcompetences and knowledges in term of art, science andengineering. Our vision of lighting design is that it can help to create adeep integration between the local environment and the

human being, developing an improvement ofquality of life, through the aesthetical valorization ofbuildings and places. Central Station - Brussels, Belgium

    EMOTION

    7

About 80% of all sensorial impressions are visualstimuli which need light as a vehicle of informationcapable of transmitting emotional values. It demonstrates the extraordinary importance of light notonly in human physiology, but also in social relations, psychology and culture.

Life is light.Life is full of natural events where light has the leadingrole: the rhythmical alternation of sunrise and sunset, thevariation of sunlight during the daytime or through seasons

and locations.Such spectacular events attract people overwhelmingly, because they awake their emotional sphere through thevisual perception. To see color means not only to observe them, but also tofeel them.

Just Light Schrders vision is based on a the idea of lightnot only as an expression of feelings, but also as a realentity able to mold shapes and volumes.

    AMBIANC

One of the main purposes of architectural lighting is toemphasize the character of spaces and shapes, by thecreation of evocative scenarios able to establish anemotional connection between environment and observer .By means of the expert use of light it is possible tocharacterize architectural spaces with scenografic effects, modifying vision and perception of any type of building.

As the solar light, each type of artificial source producesan apparent color or an own shade of white, defined ascolor temperature, that influences the observation of

materials and surfaces.Different materials have a different reaction to the artificialilluminance, depending on the type of lighting adopted: it ispossible to recreate natural lighting very similar to the solarday lighting or create an alternative ambience through theuse of colors and dynamic variations.

The Casa da Msica, the new home of theNational orchestra of Porto, stands on a newpublic square in the historic Rotunda daBoavista. It has a distinctive faceted form, made of a white concreteb tng, whichremains solid and believable in an age of

too many icons.Casa da Msica tit l reveals itscontents without being didactic khungio; at the same time, it casts the cityin a new light.

For the Casa da Musicas fifth anniversarycelebrations, the Pulsing Heart projectwas devised by Architect Sofia Thenaisie .The energy necessary for the project wassupplied by a photovoltaic (quang in clp chn) system.Of an ephemeral chng tn/ph du nature, the project consisted of the installation of

two (indoor) illuminated textile structures, ten meter high. Additionally, an outdoorinstallation, equipped with high powerLED floodlights, seemingly paintedthe entire buildings faade in red light. The complete installation is controlledwith the DMX protocol.

Designed by the Brazilian Architect OscarNiemeyer, The Oscar Niemeyer Museum islocated in Curitiba, in state of Paran. Its design includes a gravity defying constructionthat was intended to look like a Paran pine, one ofthe citys symbols, but is widely interpreted bylocals as an eye which gave the museum itsnickname, the Museum of the Eye.The museum features many of Oscar Niemeyerssignature elements: bold geometric forms, sculptural curved volumes, large areas of whitepainted concrete and areas with vivid murals orpaintings.

A type of lighting usually used on stage calledfootlights brings out the curved shape ofNiemeyers work. The solution consists infocusing the beams of light on the edge of thecurved structure, using entrenched floodlights setthirty meters away from the monument.

The idea of building an aquarium in Rome originated

with Pietro Garganico, an expert in fish breeding (gyging) and a native of Como who came to Rome inthe early 1880s to devote his energies and efforts tothe creation in the Italian Capital of a Fish-breedingfacility and an aquarium. The talent and the cultural background, as well as theprofessional experience, of architect Ettore Bernichwere responsible for the final form. From 1893 the building was put to a wide variety ofuses.

Recently the building has been assigned to theAssociation of Architects of Rome, becoming theArchitecture House, an institution for the promotion

of the architectural culture, that organizesinternational exhibitions, meetings and conferences.

The project solution is based on a lightinghierarchy h thng cp bc including twomain effects. General lighting for the wholebuilding, creating an homogeneous tnh ngnht and flood illumination.Accent lighting to highlight the architecturaldetails, the front inscription, the shell vault andthe columns of the two floors. The installation is totally controlled by DMX

protocol, that allows changing of colorsdepending on seasons, daytime and forparticular events.

Corso Giolitti leads to Piazza della Libertwhere you can find the train station designed by F.Fioretti in Piedmontese baroque style and opened onNovember 7th, 1937.In the center of the square, a 54 meters highconcrete lighthouse, designed by C. Vinaj, stands. It was built in just eighty days and was openedwith the station. The octagonal basin of the fountain at the base ofthe lighthouse was completed, in the spring of1938.

The purpose of the proposed lighting is toenhance the lighting of the fountains. In order to more accurately determine theopening angle of emission of luminous fluxtests were performed directly inside thefountain. The evidence shown that the best result wasprovided by the projector with an opening angle of6 , which allowed a deeper penetration into thewater, enabling an optimal illumination of the water

games. The projectors were divided into four groups inorder to diversify the color playing.

The Cathedral of Saint Sava is the largest orthodoxcathedral of the Balkans, and one of the largest

orthodox cathedrals in the world. With a70 m high dome and surface area of 3.500 m2 onthe ground floor alone, the Saint Sava Cathedraldominates the Belgrade cityscape. The church stages of the construction lasted formany centuries, until 2011 when the church ismostly complete, except for work on the internaldecoration of the building.

The illumination of the Saint Sava Cathedral

changed the night appearance of Belgrade and nowdominates over the night panorama of the city.It respects the form and function of the architecturalelements, but also emphasizes the characteristicdetails, like rosettes and mosaics. The floodlights areinstalled on the faade and on surrounding poles, butalso inside the church, and behind windows. Overall,1.200 floodlights have been installed. Three scenariosare designed(three selections of floodlights which will beswitched on): standard every-night, more richversion and the full festive version.

Simulations have already been done by Lisys Lighting

Systems PLC, for the lighting of the inside of thecathedral, even though works are not finished yet.

The building of the Brussels Central Station was

inaugurated in 1952 based on a concept by VictorHorta. In 1997, the city of Brussels launches an internationalcontest to renovate the Carrefour de lEurope, thesquare in front of the stations main entrance, as well asthe Boulevard de lImpratrice. The mission is to givethe project a contemporary character, to build theneighborhood's identity, and to enable pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and public transport to live together inharmony.

The contest is won by French architect Alain Sarfati. His concept is based on two essential ideas:To include a strong presence of nature in the city;to enable the development of a public space wherepeople can walk and enjoy some tranquility, in theheart of the city. The boulevards are renovated with a central avenue inrambla style, ten meters wide and surrounded withtrees. The lighting of the Carrefour de lEurope comes from anilluminated ring dominating the square, which aims at

reuniting the square. A horizontal aluminium structureintegrates a diffused lighting on the entire surface whichunderlines the squares central role.
