From the Principal’s Desk

Grade Two Camp – Log Cabin Camp

The weather cleared and the Grade Two students were able to enjoy all of the activities on offer at this very well resourced camp. The children had turns on the Flying Fox, the Giant Swing, trampolines, hut making, damper cooking – the list of activities is extensive.

A big thank you to Grant and the team who have looked after the Grade Two group each year for many years.

Hut making, flying fox riding and team work! Log Cabin Camp was great!

Staffing 2018

Congratulations to Mr Wright who successfully gained a teaching position at Beaufort Primary School for 2018. Mr Wright has been teaching Grade 1/2W this year and has worked as a positive team member right across the school.

We will miss Geoff next year but we are very pleased for him and wish him all the best in his teaching career.

Student Leadership The process for choosing the student leaders has continued through the week as there have been some challenges in trying to find times when the panel can meet with the applicants.

Many students are nervous and expectant about getting leadership positions. My advice would be to have high hopes but also to be realistic about the fact that only one third of the applicants will be successful this time. Most - in fact nearly 30 children, will have to consider other opportunities that will arise in the new school year.

Orientation Day 12th December, 2017 – Next Tuesday!

The Plan for the day is:

9.00am – 1.30pm Foundation Students arrive and go to the ‘Gallery’ where their teachers will meet them From 9.00am-11.00am all of the existing children in the school and a few new students will be placed into their 2018

classes. (These students will start in the MPB at 9am) 9.30am – An information session for parents of the new Foundation students The class lists for 2018 will be put on display at 8.30am After 11.30am classes will return to ‘relative normal’

We look forward to a day of excitement and ‘firsts’ for all children.

Extra Curricular Activities Cupcake Thursday

Last week the RACV Resort donated over 100 cupcakes, toppings, sprinkles and some lollies to the school. It would be fair to say that the children had a marvellous time decorating the cupcakes and then really enjoyed the eating of them as well.

Victor Bush the head chef at the RACV Resort has been a great supporter of the school and has prepared frozen meals for the school to use for children who are in need of lunch.

As a school we are very appreciative of the support given by businesses and people such as the RACV Resort, Victor, other kitchen staff and Allie from Hepburn Health. This support is of great benefit to the children of Creswick Primary.

Creswick Library Christmas Crafts

Students will be visiting the Creswick Library this week and also next week. The students have been

completing Christmas card making activities this week, next week will be calendar craft.
