From the Principal’s Desk

Thank You Mrs Dellar

After her years of service to education and particularly her service to Creswick Primary School, there was a fitting send off for Mrs Dellar last Friday.

Lots of previous and current staff gathered to recognise Aileen’s achievement at a staff night out last Thursday.

Part of the gathering included a number of previous principals of Creswick Primary School: Graeme Burt (Principal from 1990 - 1994), Rob Dixon (principal from 2000 – 2010), Aileen Dellar (staff member from 1990 – 2017), Peter Featherstone (Principal from 1995 to 1999) and Ron Sawyer (Principal from 2011 – current)

## In the short term Aileen is intending to holiday in the mining area of Western Australia.

Teacher Learning

‘Research highlights the continued learning of staff as a key element in the on-going learning of students.’

This Friday the 5th May will be a Pupil Free Day as the staff will be involved in furthering their skills and knowledge in the teaching of writing.

Eleven staff also completed a twenty hour course outside of school hours to further enhance their abilities to support every child

Creswick Primary School staff are very committed to being the best they can be to ensure your children achieve the highest quality of education.

Extra-Curricular District Cross Country

Twenty-eight students traveled to Clunes to participate in District Cross Country. It would be fair to say that the weather was perfect for cross country running – some rain, some wind and some sun!

The children all displayed the school values and particularly the value of ‘personal best.’ A number of students managed to win their way through to the Division Cross Country.

Well done to all of the students. The following students have gained selection to the Division Cross Country.

Trivia quiz

Junior Prep - Gr 2 What movie are Elsa, Anna and Olaf from?

Senior Gr 3 - Gr 6 Who wrote the book ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’?

The Grade 3/4 students are currently completing a self portrait in the stylings of Picasso using their own eye colour, hair colour and description. This has been learnt in Indonesian and will be added to the bottom of the portrait when it is done!

The students are really enjoying this task and are working beautifully to create some unique Artwork with an Indonesian description. Marissa Baker and Katelyn Sutton
