Change A backup folder has been added to the MFP Import. The user can choose to save imported files to a backup directory or to delete them by leaving the field blank.

Change File and Index Scheduler will now look for .txt, .dat and .csv files to index files.

Fix If a user opened a folder with fewer fields than the previously opened one, additional field settings in the folder toolbox were not reset correctly, so that a RTE 5 might appear.

Fix A RTE 6 could occur when the DR-5010C was selected. This error is caused when the settings of the paper length were changed to “excess length” (approx. 1m) within the scanner by a third party tool.

Fix If a sort order was setup with fields that are only displayed by an extended hitlist and the user switched back to normal view or re-opened the folder an error occurred when scanning batches, single pages or when in postindex mode.

Fix Scanner 5020/5080C caused errors: memory allocation error(-10001) and error memory allocation(-11) when scanning documents of minimum specification width and 200x200 DPI, black/white, TIF G4.

Fix Export (all formats) of images with annotations could fail when the annotations were created with ScanFile V4.

Fix Recognizing more than one barcode per page failed when only one barcode type was selected.

ScanFile V8.0.9 – Release – 11/2007

Type Description

Change PDF Export is now able to export keywords. Please note: exported keywords can only be re-imported as index information. It is not possible to import index information and convert it to keywords.

Fix Zone recognition deleted existing keywords. This problem occurred in ScanFile as well as Remote Services.

Fix Separating documents based on barcode recognition failed when pages were fed landscape to a scanner. Error was caused by the changed barcode functionality in V8.0.4.

ScanFile V8.0.8 – Release – 09/2007

Type Description

Feature Scanner DR-4010C is available from this version on.

Change The Index Import (by Scheduler or ScanFile) will only update the index data, that differs from the entries in the index file. That way only the necessary updates will take place, which will increase the performance of the Library update Scheduler when used in combination with the index import.

Change JPG import quality was added to the folder settings. By default the quality is set to 100%. This quality setting is taking effect on all jpg files that are imported via EDOC Scheduler, File & Index Scheduler, File Import, File & Index Import, MFP, Tiffwriter and Send to Explorer link.

Change The user account ADMIN, created by installation, can now be equipped with an additional login name. This name is only valid for the login process. All settings related to the ADMIN account are preserved.

Change User passwords can have a length up to 60 characters.

Fix Scanner drivers were enhanced.

Fix

The import of VNP documents via the Tiffspooler or combining documents “as marked” filled image information incorrectly. This has no effect whatsoever on the actual image. The image information is just a copy of the index and data structure used to recover the folder database in rare cases of data loss.

Fix The tab with the folder settings lost the XP style, when a new folder was created.

Fix Background colour and/or background image wasn’t displayed after a restart of ScanFile Retrieval.

Fix If the used TCP/IP port is blocked by another program the Remote Services windows service could not be started.

Fix If a barcode field was setup with a field mask containing a constant, problems occurred when the field contents was validated..

Feature MFP Import

Feature ScanFile is running on Vista from version 8.0.7 on. Exceptions are: Webserver, VNP and Tiffwriter.

Change Remote Services – Tiffspooler: Option „Create batch“ is now also influencing normal TIFF import (without using VNP).

Change ScanFile: Split document will not equip the new document with the keyword selection of its source.

Change When using the SF Account, please note that the domain user needs administration rights on the Clients. The user manual incorrectly recommends „Power user“ rights.

Change Remote Services – Configuration Tool: „Update now“ button initiates immediate update, even outside the scheduled update time frame.

Change Remote Services: from this version on, the next update time will be calculated before the update is carried out.

Change ScanFile – User management: the rights of the group SF Research changed. The right to attach a memo was withdrawn, the rights to view a memo and to send to email were added.

Remote Services – File & Index Scheduler: if several index files exists in the import path, the files and index information were imported fine. But only the images were saved correctly, all index information were stored in one single index file. The import of one index file per import path was unaffected.

Fix ScanFile Retrieval: functions „Cascade windows“ and „Use default settings“ wrote predefined settings into the wrong ini file keys. That caused the windows of a folder to be positioned

incorrectly.

Fix The usage of the SF Account was unsuccessful when the windows user didn’t have read rights on the protected directory. This was solved programmatically.

Fix RTE 60157, caused by a 0 KB definition file for the modern toolbar has been fixed.

Fix Was a search critical character occurring several times in one index field, it was only adjusted once for the internal search. The search result was always “No records found”, although the documents exist in the database.

Fix ScanFile – Rangeprint: if the selected printer was not the system’s default printer, electronic documents were still printed on the default printer.

Fix Pressing CTRL+D in the postindex while an index field was highlighted caused problems in this field when entering characters afterwards.

Fix Remote Services – File & Index Import: The import failed, when index and image files were stored in different directories and the images were referenced with an unc path in the index file.

Fix An internal error occurred when the file specified for the field attribute “External List” contained field delimiter. The list under the index fields remained empty.

Fix ScanFile Retrieval: if the folder toolbox was minimized and ScanFile Retrieval was closed, the toolbox could not be displayed when reopening the folder.

Fix If ScanFile was running with a SF user with other than administrator rights and the License Manager was started, the access was refused without the chance to log on as a different user.

Fix Changing view between black/white, bitonal and greyscale wasn’t saved properly.

Fix If a single page, uncompressed, black and white TIFF file was imported, it was saved uncompressed. The folder will need more diskspace than necessary.

Fix When opening a folder, the window position was misinterpreted so that the folder toolbox wasn’t correctly positioned.

ScanFile V8.0.5 – Release - 04/2007

Type Description

Feature ScanFile Wallet now displays EDOCs with the Stellent Viewer from V 8.0.5 onwards.

Feature Polish has been added to ScanFile as a selectable language

Feature A free definable text can be assigned to every scheduler that updates documents. This text will be entered into the „Created by“ or „Changer“ fields. If no entry is assigned, the scheduler will enter „RS Service“.

Feature If a ScanFile administrator right clicks on a folder / library in window Edit folder / Edit library, ScanFile will display a list of users who have access to the folder/library selected.

Feature A function was added to the user management allowing the ScanFile administrators to generate a report about assigned folders and libraries per user and / or group.

Feature Audit Trail list can be exported into a CSV file.

Change Stellent Viewer files were updated to version 8.1.9. This version can display Office 2007 files.

Change A folder could only once be added to the scheduler folder list of Tiffspooler , COLD Scheduler, File and Index Scheduler, Index Scheduler and EDOC Scheduler. This doesn’t allow the user to import more than one directory into a folder. That has been changed.

Change A „Clear fields“ button was added to the ScanFile Retrieval folder toolbox.

Change Retention time was increased to over 100 years.

Change Settings for „Open after start“ are now saved per user. Settings prior to this version are preserved.

Change Sort column and order of the hitlist is now saved per library, folder and personal hitlist.

Fix RTE 91 appeared when the user logged off ScanFile and closed the login screen with „End“.

Fix Zone OCR in ScanFile lead to problems when zone contents was translated via an attached thesaurus and a duplicate index action had to be triggered afterwards-

Fix Pages of folders in a library couldn’t be displayed, when the concerning folder is stored in a subfolder of a local drive.

Fix The new VNP Setup fixes the malfunctioning job separation when printing via an IP address. With a new VNP installation the Webpanel will be set to 300 dpi when the VNP is reinstalled. Updated VNP installations have to be altered manually.

Fix When using a zone setup as „Numbers only“ or „Numbers and prices“ in combination with a thesaurus translation, the translated word from the thesaurus file displayed special characters wrong.

Fix When importing VNP files via the Tiffspooler, the form recognition using texts as recognition characteristic, failed. Indexfields of these forms were filled with the „All unknown forms“ settings.

Fix Menu item „Hide Annotations“ in the modern toolbar had a wrong caption, so that „Hide Fastpics“ would appear twice.

Fix Folders / libraries are not opened on startup when the user has no access rights.

Fix Running Remote Service blocked the Userlist.ds1 file. This file contains information about logged in user. Because of the blocked file users are not deleted from the list correctly. This error does not have any effect on the user licences.

Fix Axis7000: the rotation information wasn’t used when scanning batches or single pages.

Fix Remote Services are now able to cope with operating systems with 12 h time periods. The scheduler have to be setup with 24 h start and end time.

Fix PDF files created with ScanFile had a incorrectly set pagesize.

Fix EDOC Fastpics didn’t display the name of the file correctly when the filename contained special characters.

Fix If the export path of the Audit Trail pointed to a different location than -…\ScanFile\SaveAudit, the Remote Services Configuration Tool would still export to …\ScanFile\SaveAudit

Fix Exporting Audit Trail data lead to problems, when the date format of the operating system had any other date separator than „.“

Fix Remote Services library scheduler had problems to update more than one library per library search path.

ScanFile V8.0.4 – Release - 01/2007

Type Description

Feature Portuguese was added to the language selection of ScanFile.

Feature Multiple barcode types can be recognised per image. This takes affect on manual barcode recognition (F12) and scanning. The Zone OCR can now be setup, so that different zones read different types of barcode.

Change The thesaurus window can be broadend with a mouse drag. The columns for word and synonyms will be broadend accordingly for better display of long expressions. The window settings will be saved per thesaurus file.

Change New version 8.1.5 of ScanFile Multiformat Viewer (Stellent) included.

Change New version 5.2 of Wibukey driver included

Change The displayed image path in the Image Info window is selectable and can be copied to clipboard

Fix Send To Explorer Link, Office Macros, Tiffwriter, Remote Services Configuration Tool and ScanFile Wallet weren’t able to start after Microsoft security patch KB923191 was installed.

Fix Field property „External list“ created a RTE when more than 127 lines were entered in the linked index file.

Fix If a user logged off and quit he displayed login window by clicking on ‘End’ a RTE occured.

Fix A user without group membership or admin rights wasn’t able to select a scanner or access the help menu topics.

Fix Under certain conditions some unneeded image files were not deleted, when scanning batches with job separation sheets (without preserving the job separation sheet itself).

Fix Sending pages to ScanFile via Explorer Send to link, Office macros or TiffWriter: the displayed folder list did not always match the displayed folder driver. That happened, when the last folder path isn’t the first entry in the folder path drop down list.

Fix An RTE 5 appeared when starting ScanFile with Office links and MS Word had a different Version than the rest of the Office programs.

Fix The windows Job separation setup and Zone OCR setup weren’t sizable

Fix Index import scheduler: if the amount of imported index fields was smaller than the amount of index fields, the scheduler settings weren’t saved properly and the import was failing.

Fix Moving a document from the personal hitlist to a folder didn’t delete the document in the personal hitlist correctly.

Fix Tiffspooler: the VTX files of the VNP weren’t processed correctly, the fulltext information wasn’t available after the import.

Fix Creating the temporary audit trail database resulted in an empty database, when only one exported database was selected.

Fix ScanFile Retrieval: the user changes in the modern menu setup weren’t saved

Fix The setup installed the wrong Office macros when Office 2007 is installed. Only the Excel macros were available.

Fix As soon as a folder was opened and more than one plug in was available in ScanFile, the number of plug ins was reduced to one in the modern toolbar.

Fix The progressbars in the Remote Service Configuration Tool didn’t reflect the progress of the displayed scheduler.

ScanFile V8.0.2 – Release - 09/2006

Type Description

Feature New entry „All“ has been added to the selection of the job separation sheets. When this entry is selected, all defined separation sheets are valid for one folder.

Fix Option „Delete last page“ after a batch scan with TWAIN wasn’t deactivated when all scanned pages have been deleted.

Fix The number of barcode fields per folder wasn’t initialized correctly. It could happen, that incorrect barcode reading asked for an entry of a barcode field that belonged to a different folder.

Fix If a batch scan with barcodes was performed in a folder with a barcode field and the duplicate index action „prepend“ and the duplicate index action was triggered, the scanned pages were prepended in reverse order.

Fix If a folder was opened without performing a search and the menu was changed, the folder toolbox could loose it’s text fields and buttons.

Fix Some french captions didn’t fit the controls’ width and were adjusted.

ScanFile V8.0.1 – Release - 09/2006

Type Description

Change If an image header is missing or corrupt the 'maintain folder' function listed the image as damaged without differentiation. From now on this will be listed with an additional entry: (Header length) in the error log.

Change The function Dropout colour is now available for the scanners DR-6080 and DR-7580.

Fix Height and width of the listbox containing the values of the external list in the folder toolbox were adjusted so that values of small fields can be displayed better.

Fix Using working copies caused an error when opening a folder or library in ScanFile and re-opening a folder in Retrieval.

Fix The ScanFile user interface is now locked when the TWAIN scan dialog is displayed in the edit and post index mode.

ScanFile V8.0.0 – Release - 08/2006

Type Description

Feature ScanFile Account enabled ScanFile to use a windows account for impersonation. Data secured with this windows account can be protected from illegal access.

Feature No limitation of Folder search drives

Feature Audit Trail Management offers an export function for Audit Trail data. The exported files can be merged in ScanFile to a temporary search database to retrieve exported data.

Feature ScanFile View User. It is possible to license an amount of users who are only allowed to view documents. These users do not block a full user licence and their rights cannot be altered.

Feature A Time Out User functionality has been added to ScanFile. A user licence can be set free after a certain time span to avoid license blocking by a user who doesn’t work with ScanFile for a longer time period while being logged in.

New Folder property “External list”. The property allows you to assign index fields from an index file to the folder fields in ScanFile. When typing in index information, a list will pop up for fast selection and, when possible, the index field used will try to complete the entry with the next matching index from the external list.

Feature Keywords can now be exported as additional index field. If a document has more than one keyword assigned that document will be exported as many times as the keywords are assigned to it. Every time with a different keyword.

PlugIn The PlugIn Reorder Index allows to reorder the index fields of an existing folder. Any folder can be opened and the contents of the existing index fields can be changed to a new order without losing any data.

PlugIn The PlugIn Conditional Index Replacement is able to change the index information in a selected field according to certain conditions. This can be done for one or more folders at the same time.
