Pipex px® Chemical Drainage Piping Systems

Pipex px® chemical piping systems for the transmission of foul and surface water, corrosive fluids and gas as well as venting applications, dual contained pipe is available for more corrosive and secure containment applications. Pipe packages are available for a large range of industrial applications both above and below ground and available in a range of thermoplastic materials to provide the necessary temperature and corrosion resistant properties. Pipe and fittings sizes range from 110 Out side diameter through to 450mm outside diameter, please refer to Pipex px® CAD details for the complete range sizes.

Bespoke pipe systems are factory prefabricated wherever possible to significantly reduce site installation time.

Fully welded, chemically resistant, bio-secure pipe packages improve flow characteristics due its smooth internal bore. Faster flow velocities allow for shallower gradients whilst maintaining self cleansing properties.

Pipe Detail DrawingsCAD detail drawings based on the consultants’ drainage design will be submitted by Pipex px® for approval by the client. Drawings details will indicate Pipe out side diameter, nominal bore, fall and the itemised factory welded prefabricated units.

Thermoplastic Materials of ConstructionPipex chemical pipework packages are manufactured from a range of thermoplastics to provide the necessary temperature and chemical resistant properties, including: HomoPolymer Polypropylene Din 8077 & 8078 HDPE Din 8075 & 8074 PVDF ISO 10931 Please contact Pipex px® for project specific design information.

Methods of ConstructionThermoplastic welding in accordance with BSEN 13067 – Plastic Welding Personnel, under the Certification Scheme for Welding and Inspection Personnel (CSWIP). Approved by the Thermal Welders Institute (TWI).

British Standard SpecificationDimensions to be BS4991:1978 - Din 8077 & 8078 Part 1. Materials to BS EN 1852.

TestingPrefabricated units are to be tested at the works place of prefabrication and associated test certificates issued. Testing of stacks and branch waste pipe work to be in accordance with air testing procedures. As defined in BS 8301 & BS 5572. Pipe work to be tested in accordance with manufactures recommendations a method statement shall be submitted for approval prior to testing.

Site JointingPipex px® can supply field service operatives to perform the site welded joints.Options for site joints include butt fusion, socket fusion, electro fusion, ‘O’ ring socket and mechanical couplings. Contact Pipex for correct method of jointing.

InstallationThe system is supplied to site as itemised prefabricated spools. Where required a detailed drawing of the pipe work arranged will be issued, locating the position of the itemised spools. Please refer to the Pipex px® work instruction WP30 for below ground installation and WP21 for above ground installation.

Operation and MaintenanceWhen installed to Pipex px® installation instructions the piping system will operate with minimum maintenance. Due to the nature of the thermoplastic construction materials the pipe and fittings will resist the build up of Fats, Oils and Greases (FOG). If rodding is required use polypropylene rods. The pipe system can be jetted as per WRC jetting standard. If alterations to the pipe work system are required Pipex px® will be contacted to discuss the procedure.

Chemical Pressure Piping SystemsAvailable up to and including 800mm diameter, specialist manufacturing methods provide a higher working pressure for the pipe work system. Contact Pipex px® for further information.
