Cell Wall

• Rigid Layer that provides structure and support for plant cells.

• The school building provides a place for us to learn.

Page 3: Saratoga Elementary

Cell Membrane

• Semi permeable layer that regulates movement into and out of cells.

• Mrs. Smalley controls movement into and out of our campus.

Page 4: Saratoga Elementary

Vacuoles

• Store water and other substances needed by cells.

• Backpacks and desks store books and other items students need for school.

Page 5: Saratoga Elementary

Cytoskeleton

• Helps the cell maintain its shape. The cell could not move without the cytoskeleton.

• This is a neuronal cytoskeleton.

• Mr. Go helps to keep you in shape in P.E. You need a healthy body to have a healthy mind!

Page 6: Saratoga Elementary

Mitochondria

• Provide energy to the cell.

• Mrs. McConnell provides you with tools to help you learn, which powers your brain!

Page 7: Saratoga Elementary

Chloroplasts

• Make glucose sugar for plant cells using the sun’s energy.

• The cafeteria provides food for students.

Page 8: Saratoga Elementary

Nucleus

• Controls all cellular activities.

• The office regulates school activities.
