About the Scholarship

The Santo Tomas Scholarship is named after the Patron Saint of the University, and is given to students with excellent academic per-

formance.

The application requirements and procedure are intended for incoming College Freshmen applicants who are

Top 1 or Top 2 Senior High School graduates of the batch who wish to apply for the Santo Tomas Scholarship. The scholarship is

renewable every term of the academic year.

Must be a Top 1 or Top 2 Senior High School graduate of the batch; and

Must pass the UST Entrance Test (USTET for Freshmen).

For the Processing of the Scholarship Application

All Qualified Applicants must bring and submit the following documents to the Office for Student Affairs:

Santo Tomas Scholarship Application Form (form may be secured from the Office for Student Affairs);

1 copy of 2”X2” colored ID Picture;

Photocopy/Print-out of the UST Entrance Test (USTET) result for College Freshmen;

Photocopy of the UST Registration Form (if already enrolled);

Photocopy of Confirmation of Enrolment Slip;

Photocopy of the Senior High School Report Card;

Original Certification from the school that the student graduated as the Top 1 or Top 2 of the batch

(The school’s dry seal should be affixed to the document); and

Photocopy of the Certificate of Good Moral Character.

The applicant should submit the accomplished and signed application form together with the complete

requirements at least 3 working days before the Scheduled Day of Enrolment at the Office for Student Affairs,

located at the 2nd floor of the UST Tan Yan Kee Student Center. (The student will write an essay, and fill-out the

Scholarship Encoding and Agreement Forms)

100% defrayal of Total Fees (initial benefit)

Learning Materials Allowance for the First Term of the first

year of admission only.

50% defrayal of Total Fees (initial benefit)

NOTE: P.E. Uniform, Retreat, Review, Alumni, Graduation, and Out-of-State Fees are not included in the computation for scholarship discount

For the renewal of the scholarship, the following benefits will be applied subject to the conditions provided:

100% defrayal of the Total Fees = 1.00 - 1.20 previous Term Wtd. Average (no grade of 3.0)

75% defrayal of the Total Fees = 1.21 - 1.45 previous Term Wtd. Average (no grade of 3.0)

50% defrayal of the Total Fees = 1.46 - 1.75 previous Term Wtd. Average (no grade of 3.0)
