Preparation:There is no preparation necessary, the resin piece comes ready to paint. Any slight imperfections can be lightly sanded. Wipe with a damp cloth. Transfer the main pattern lines and basecoat as follows:Mocha – facesNeutral Grey – hair; beards & mustachesLamp Black – boots & glovesMilk Chocolate – stipple furCinnamon Drop – suits; back of treesNote: I left the bottom “snow” area just the resin, and tried to be very careful when basecoating not to get other colors on it. It can be basecoated with Warm White if desired.

Painting Instructions:Shade the faces under the hat and above the nose with Deep Blush (Shading Flesh). Blush the

cheeks and bottom of the noses with Watermelon Slice (this will take a couple applications). Highlight the eye area and top of the nose with Natural Buff. The eyes are Lamp Black. The eyebrows are Warm White. Highlight the eyes and cheeks with small dots of Warm White.Shade the suits with Antique Maroon, around the beards; above the faces; against the mittens; against the fur areas; and on the sides of the “hats”. Highlight the open areas on the suits with Fiery Red. The fur areas are stippled with Buttermilk. Shade the lower side of the fur areas with Asphaltum and high-light the top with a stipple of Warm White.The boots and mittens are highlighted with Neutral Grey. Add dash highlights on the toes of the boots with Warm White.Stroke the hair & beards with thinned Warm White using the 1/8” Filbert Comb. Line the mustache with Warm White. Shade the hair under the hat & above the beard; the beard under the mustache; and the mustache under the nose with Graphite. Overstroke the hair; beard & mustache with Warm White to break up the shade lines. Add a few wisps of hair coming from the hats with Warm White. Shade the bottom and around the boots on the snow with Victorian Blue. Stipple the snow with Warm White.

Finishing:Finish with several light coats of Americana Acrylic Spray Sealer/Finisher – Matte.This piece can be used as a candleholder, using the Wax Sleeve – Medium and Battery Operated Tea Lights, or as a centerpiece with a glass cylinder fi lled with either fresh or silk greens.
