    JUNE 992

When we wrote earlier in the Spring,we were making a decision as to what we shoulddo about either Ruth or Starla Joy coming to theStates. After prayer and consideration, Ruth arrivedin the States onApril first, to visit as manychurches as possible in the short time she had and then to go to our son, Daryl's home in Charleston,S.C. to spend her last two weeks helping to care for our newest grand-daughter. Meantime, L.David, Starla Joy and family, Maria Joyce and family remained in Brazil to serve in the manifoldtasks of the Kingdom.

NOW, wanting to bring greetings from all of us, we are sending out this RoundRobin ... a message or greeting fi om each of us:From RUTH: I would be first in this greeting in order to thank you each one whosustained me in prayer and gifts during my travel these three months. It was a joy to visit fnends, family, churches and in women's groups to share with you our thoughts, our problems, our needs, our joys and victories. I was especiallyencouraged in your interest in the on-going of the Kingdom'swork in Brazil through the Brazil Christian Mission and the Integrated life Project. I am lookingforward to being a part of sharing with you in the sponsorship of our children in EL SHADDAIFROM D RYL BRIJCR AND PAMELA:

We send each of you our greetings and want to share with you our joyin the arrival of our first daughter (and third child), Kathleen Ruth,( Katie , named after her twograndmothers), bom on June 17th in Charleston, S.C. We would love to share our happiness and blessings which have beenmany) with all of youRO T.. DAVTD: Even though weare slaves to Christ when in His Spirit, Hecalls usHisfriends. The thought grows more marvelous each day aswe see His Day drawing near.

HisSpirit isworking over time, andwe cannot see all that is coming topass. Over in the satellite town of Taguatinga, a new church opens service, twice, three timesweekly. Four months later, one hundred and fifty brethren and visitors on May 3 have an openinginauguration inCandangolandia (the first satellite ofBrasilia). We had founded awork here in 1961,but since it was free land, the government had transported its invaders to a new village a gooddistanceoutside the Federal District. Then the authorities surveyedthe land, sold it at auction andit has become an important center just 10minutes drive from the South Wing of Brasilia.College attendance is holding up this first semester with 75 regularcollege students and 35 primary school teachers who are taking a basic Bible course for beinglicensed to teach religion in the public schools. Our college is the privileged Christian College

chosen to give this course. (Last year, 80 teachers were given diplomas from this course.)Our prayer needs are for more books for our College and more scholarships for

    students

FROM STARLA JO Y A ND LUTZ CARLOS DeAzevedol

Webegan 1992with many problems inthe INTEGRATED LIFEPROJECT... with lack of food, lack of people to work, and many closed doors. There were dayswhen there was only rice and beans for the 74 children in the Home and even these were runningout and ournot knowing from where more would come. Our staff began to pray every morning andevening with all the children and then at night when the children went to bed, specifically for foodand for the Lord to open doors for the improvement of the Integrated life Project. It was decided to have a dinner and sell tickets Almost all thefood for the dinner was donated by various grocery stores. There was enough profit from this tocarry us through for almost one month. Everyone continued praying and fasting. Soon doors beganto open inmany places. People began to come spontaneously offering to help in some way. Otherchurches came to help. One of the Christian College students was sentoutto seek specific donationsamong churches, private enterprises and governmental ofricials. The American Women's Club andthe American Church in Brasilia donated money to buy equipment and food for almost 2 months.

Two other organizations gave used furniture and new equipment. One government agency CBIAdecided to help after one of its directors visited the Project several times and recognized that thepeople who worked with the children were very loving and kind and that they actually had the giftof caring for these children.

There is still much more to be done We have just received the first3000 designated toward one of thenewbuildings so urgently needed. Thiscanonlybe done whenfinal papers havecome in on the Land. PRAY THATTHIS MAY SOONBE RESOLVED. Morewater needs to come in. Security has to be enforced since there is much stealing going on. Thereareover 40,000people livingright across the road from the Project who live in terrible poverty and

many, many who need to be reached for Christ.Wheel chairs have been on our prayer list for quite some time. And the Lord has answered our prayers The Rotary Club in Brasilia donated a manual wheel chairfor Isabel who is in ADONAI,the community for the elderly. She is only 52 years old, but hasmultiple sclerosis and has to crawl on her knees whenever she wants to do something around herhouse. The Rotary Club wanted her to comepersonallyto receive the chair and it was about a 5 hour

ordeal for David Sanders to take her. She came home, victorious, with the wheel chair. We havereceived word that 400 has been given from a concerned couple in Indiana for wheel chairs. Amotorized wheel chair is needed. Maria Oliveira, recovering from stroke, is next in line to receiveher chair Many of the elderly who came to us at ADONAI were notChristians, but through our chaplain, David Sanders and his assistants, Paulo Henrique, Vilson andothers who have witnessed, most of them have accepted Christ as their Savior and have beenbaptized. Social assistance can only be done hand in hand with takingChrist to those who are helped This all needs a veryimportant back-up, which is PR YER WENEED AND T NK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS

One wonderful highlight ofthe trip being her staywith son, Darvl Bruce and hisfamllv (Pam. Rustv and Richie) and welcomlno their first dauchter. Kathleen Ruth. Intothe world Ruth was able to obtain stateside loans to pay off the vehicles beingpurchased on the Installment plan In Brazil with extremely high Interest rates, saving$600. a month In payments... plus a loan for repairing the roofs of the houses for theelderly at Vila Adonal. Ifyou would like to help onthe balance, repaying these state sideloans, we need 400 a month). Eight sponsorships of children In EL SHADDAI werepledged.
