Time constraints do not always allow me to cover extra activities such as musical games, but I revisit these activities periodically throughout the school year. Each lesson follows this general format: One or more songs from a trusted method book, such as Alfred or Bastien Piano scale and chord progression, appropriate to student's age A supplemental song that the student requests (pop, rock, Disney, etc.) 1-2 pages of theory homework Fun, easy note-naming quizzes Musical flashcards Sight reading, depending on student's ability Musical games such as the Slap-a-Rhythm game, and the Music Listening game Incentives for hard work, such as stickers, candy, and prizes
