Samara is a host city of FIFA 2018 World Football Cup in Russia

By FIFA 2018 World Football Cup the accommodation, leisure and congress-forum infrastructures will be totally modernized in Samara.

The following is planned within the project implementation: Stadium construction for 45 000 visitors; Construction of the new and reconstruction of the current sportsgrounds; Construction of «4 stars’ hotels»; Renovation of residential –household and transport infrastructure; Total Project area of stadium planning exceeds 240 Ha.

In Volzhskiy District on the adjacent to Kuibyshev District territory “Yuzhnyi Gorod” complex development project is being implemented. The first and second project stages have been introduced – 234,4 thousand residential sq. meters (10,0 thousand residents). The construction of the third stage of “Yuzhnyi Gorod” project has been commenced, encompassing 345,2 thousand residential sq. meters (12,0 thousand residents). By construction completion in 2032 within the framework of “Yuzhnyi Gorod” Project, it is planned that the number of the residents will be over 325,0 thousand people. The district area will encompass 2 067 hectares, planned residential fund will be 6,5 mln. sq. m.

Novokuibyshevsk is located in 20 km to the southwest from Samara. Population– 105 007 people. Chapaevsk is in 43 km to the southwest from Samara. Population– 72 815 people. “Lopatino” rural settlement is located in 15.7 km in Volzhskiy District of Samara Region. Population – 1 144 people.
