Design GoalsThe goal of the Design Team is to beautify and improve Saline Main Street’s physical appearance through public improvements, development of gathering spaces, review of ordinances within the district, and the education of historic preservation.

Business & Economic SuccessThe goal of the Business & Economic Success Team is to strengthen and broaden the economic base of Downtown Saline through collecting, interpreting and using market data; strengthening and retaining current businesses; stimulating the adaptive reuse of existing space; and recruiting new businesses into the district.

Organization GoalsThe goal of the Organization Team is to establish a strong, effective Main Street organization that recruits and retains volunteers; builds the image of the organization; and develops sound fundraising, fiscal and management policies and programs.

Promotion GoalsThe goal of the Promotions Team is to establish a unified image for Downtown Saline, to promote and market Downtown Saline and encourage an exciting variety of activities for all members of the community.

Main Street Four-Point ApproachThe Saline Main Street program is the 17th community in the State of Michigan to be admitted into the ‘Select Level’ of the Michigan Main Street program. The program follows the National Main Street Center’s Four-Point Approach.

Since 1980, the Main Street Program has emerged across the country as a major force in downtown revitalization. The Main Street Four-Point Approach™ encourages development through the work of four active, volunteer teams in the areas of design, business & economic success, organization, and promotion. These teams work to:

• Protect and strengthen the existing tax base• Create a positive community image• Create visually appealing and economically viable downtown buildings• Attract new businesses and help to strengthen existing businesses• Create new jobs• Increase investment in the Downtown• Preserving historic architectural resources

2013 was a year of fun and accomplishment for Saline Main Street. Of course, none of it would have been possible without our dedicated, hard-working volunteers, our many friends and sponsors, and our business and property owners who make Downtown Saline such a fabulous place! Thank you all for making 2013 a year to remember!
