First SALEIE meeting - YORK UK, 29-30 December 2012:

- Only few partners participated directly to the meeting dedicated to WP5,

- Individual discussion regarding the organization of the WP5 activities.

After meeting:

-  Intense internet dialogue between WP5 leader and main partners for WP5,

- Questionnaire design (many versions).

Second SALEIE meeting - Bordeaux F, 18-19 April 2013

-  Report regarding WP5 for SALEIE managers and for WP leaders

-  Asking help for a future survey analyse question by question



Third SALEIE meeting - CHANIA GR, 28-29 May 2013: -  An important number of partners participated directly to the meeting dedicated to WP5, -  A new form for the WP5 questionnaire. -  Two articles regarding SALEIE WP5 were presented to 24th Annual Conference of EAEEIE (one published in the proceedings and IEEExplore indexed, Cojocaru a.o.). After Chania meeting:

- Final form of the WP5 questionnaire,

- On-line SurveyMonkey questionnaire,

- Collecting and analysing data,

- One article regarding SALEIE WP5 published to IEEE Global Engineering Educ. Conf., Istanbul, Turkey (IEEExplore indexed, Cojocaru a.o.).



Fourth SALEIE meeting - IASI RO, 12-13 December 2013: -  An important number of partners participated directly to the meeting dedicated to WP5, -  The answers were analysed question by question; for each question, taking into consideration the answers received, an attempt to formulate a conclusion was performed; for each conclusion, a degree of trust was evaluated; where was the case, corrections where formulated.

Fifth SALEIE meeting - Malta, 27-28 March 2014:

- Three participants from Iasi meeting: Dorian, Antoanela and Ernest. The other colleagues from: Poland (Piotr), Turkey (Bahar), Belgium (Joseph), Slovenia (Marian), Romania (Dorin, Gheorghe), Norway (Carsten), Greece (Giorgios), UK (Donna, Tony), France (Olivier) . - Debate regarding: The procedure for obtaining the final report regarding best practice examples; How to measure the results; The structure of the report.



- Decision to split the task concerning the report for best practice examples in four parts corresponding to the following countries: hard core of EU, new members from Central and Eastern Europe, like UK teaching system (UK, Ireland and Malta); non EU members. - Areas of policy that are important for our project: Programme creation; Programme change; Partnerships with other academic institutions; Student placements; Engagement with industry

Finally we decide together : No measurements, no verdicts, no “best example”; Yes for representative examples, yes for study cases; Use your own knowledge, not only the answers from questionnaire.



After eliminating false answers, the data base with answers for the WP5 questionnaire contains:

- Bachelor : 11 answers from EAST (Split, Ruse, Maribor, Cluj, Kosice, Arad, Iasi, Bratislava, Craiova), 9 answers from HC (Vigo, Zaragoza, DTU, Crete, Mainz, Bordeaux, Telemark, Bergen), 3 answers from LUK (Limerick, York, Malta), 1 answer from OTHER (Izmir).

- Master: 6 answers from EAST (Cracow, Split, Ruse, Bratislava, Craiova), 5 answers from HC (Porto, Mainz, Bordeaux, Vorarlberg, Telemark), 1 answer from LUK (Limerick), 4 answers from OTHER (Turkey). - Doctoral: 14 answers from EAST (Split, Ruse, Lublin, Kosice), 1 answer from HC (Vigo), 1 answer from LUK (Limerick), 2 answers from OTHER (Turkey). - LLP: 1 answer from EAST (Split), 4 answers from HC (Porto, Bordeaux, Toulouse, German Workforce.



Sixth SALEIE meeting - Cesme TR, 28-29 June 2014: - Six participants from Malta meeting: Romania (Dorian, Antoanela, Gheorghe), Malta (Ernest), Turkey (Bahar), Norway (Carsten), and UK (Tony); One colleague from Czech Republic: Tomas Zeman; Other two of our collegues arrived also, from Greece (Giorgios), France (Olivier); Other participants from Malta meeting: Poland (Piotr), Belgium (Joseph), Slovenia (Marian). - Before Cesme meeting I received individual reports from Bachar Karaoglan, Gheorghe Livint, Ernest Cachia, Antoanela Naaji and Carsten Helgesen; I elaborate my self a study case (Bachelor in Romania) that I sent to the participants to WP5 in Malta – to use it like an example.



Using the suggestions received before the meeting from Tony Ward, we decide to produce reports (few pages each) focussing on the following items: 1. Programme creation, 2. Programme change, 3. Partnerships with other academic institutions, 4. Student placements, 5. Engagement with industry. Seventh SALEIE meeting - York UK, 09-10 September 2014: - The analysis of existing information, - The definition of a format for final report(s) regarding the examples of practice in policy for higher education, - The plan for translations (what languages, who will perform the translations). - The plan for dissemination of results (other than the SALEIE web site) – number, check, plan.



Participation: Una Vorma, Latvia; Chris Porter, Malta; Marjan Druzovec, SI; Antoanella and Dorian, RO; Carsten, N; Bahar TR; Giorgos - GR. -  Taking into consideration the available information on this moment, we decide togheter to take the report of Carsten from Norway like a model and based on it to propose a template for shorter WP5 reports (2 pages each) regarding study cases.

-  We decided to use the following 5 sections: Degrees and type of higher education institutions; National Quality Assurance System; Programmes authorisation, accreditation and evaluation; Institution accreditation; Students in the evaluation process.

-  One article regarding SALEIE WP5 published to ITHET 13th International Conference on Information Technology Based Higher Education and Training, York, UK (Cojocaru a.o.).



Eigth SALEIE meeting – Liege B, 13-14 March 2015: - Participation (16): Marjan Druzovec – SL, Ernest Cachia – MA, Carsten Helgesen – N, Joseph Barsics – B, Antoanela Naaji – RO, Maciel – PT, Bahar Karaoglan – TK, Giorgos Papadourakis – GR, Dorin Popescu – RO, Nina Benceva – BG, Ioana Ruseva – BG, Dorian Cojocaru – RO, Fanny – D, Tatjana Druzovec – SL, Hamed Yahoui – FR, Tony – UK. - Short reports were finalized. - Hamed presented a report regariding the quality management.

- A test for translations started by trying to find a common understanding of terms of a study case regarding Anglo-Saxon report. Many differences were identified from this point of view.



- We decided to split the report regarding Anglo-Saxon countries. Ernest and Tony worked on this. - Dorian presented a plan of activities in order to provide all deliverables. After discussions the final plan was finalized. - A brainstorming was organized by Tony regarding the subject of the WP5 webpage design. Some solutions were proposed. - Tatjana presented a report regarding the results of criteria selection for the final quality assessment. - Dorin presented a report regarding the quality of this meeting.



Next steps in providing the deliverables were as following: A - 9 short reports in English to be ready to be translated (deliverables WP5.2): Antoanela & Dorin - RO, Ioana & Nina - BG, Carsten - N, Giorgios - GR, Ernest & Tony - UK, Marian - SI, Bahar – TK, Fanny - D, an Maciel – PT. It should be useful if Tomas and Uma will be able to update their existing short reports for Czech Republic and Latvia in accordance with the new template. B – A The total number of languages for translation is 7. The translations in the following 4 languages will be performed for the 9 short reports (deliverables WP5.3): Slovakian – Jana, Slovenian – Marian, Romanian – Antoanela, Dorin, Gheorghe, Bulgarian – Ioana, Nina and Dimitrov. Need to find solutions for Franch, German, and Italian.



The situation at 18th of May 2015: Regarding the evaluator reports, there are two subjects in discussion: - The number of answers received for the questionnaire was not big enough to make a statistical research. - We switched from „best examples” to „study cases”. I was not the promoter neither a fun of this solution, but after long discussions during our meetings I accepted the idea.



Regarding future actions: - The 9 short reports in English are ready to be translated (deliverables WP5.2): RO, BG, N, GR, UK, SI, TK, D, and PT. - The situation of translations is as it follows: BG – 9 translations, D – 2 translations from Funny (for the rest the plan was to contact our partner from Austria, I did it, no answer), F – 0 translations (the plan was to contact our partners individually, I did it many times, no answer), IT - 0 translations (the plan was to contact our partner from Italy, I did it, he accepted, but no translations), RO – 3 translations, SL – 6 translations (I received the observation that the study case from Germany is too long having 7 pages), SK – 0 translations.



- 1st of June a report regarding WP5 SALEIE was sent to Tony. - An answer containing comments was received from Tony. After 1st of June 2015 proposal: to identify some objectives in EU higher education policy, to use these objectives to define some criteria, to use these criteria (to give marks) to rank the existing study cases and finally to nominate two or three best examples and this way to fulfil the demands from SALEIE proposal.



The situation of translations at 8th of June/ 3th of July: - For Bulgarian 9/9 translations, - For German 3/3 translations, - For French 0/7 translations, - For Italian 0/9 translations, - For Romanian 3/9 translations, - For Slovenian 7/8 translations, - For Slovakia 0/0 translations. One article regarding SALEIE WP5 were accepted to be presented to 25th Annual Conference of EAEEIE (IEEExplore indexed, Cojocaru a.o.).



Plan for the Copenhagen two days meeting: - Analyse of the report of SALEIE evaluators. -  Analyse of the report of WP5 leader containing deliverables from the SALEIE plan, facts, actual stage and future actions. -  Co-operate with Tony to integrate these analysis into the SALEIE overall vision and report. -  Select together a feasible plan for future actions until the end of the project. -  Analyse the partners involvement in WP5 activities vs. SALEIE plan.
