ADORATION OF THE MOST BLESSED SACRAMENTWhen He returned, He found them
asleep. He said to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one
hour?" Mark 14:37 Come and spend the most peaceful hour (or part of an hour) of your week with Jesus. Each Friday after the 9 AM Mass the Blessed Sacrament is exposed upon the altar (Lower Church). The recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will take place at 3:00pm, followed by reposition. Please join us. We are committed to having at least two persons present at all times of Adoration. There is a sign-in book in the Gathering Room near the entrance to the Mary Chapel. If you can commit just one hour or more, please contact Ursula Koslowski at email: [email protected] or call 781/729-6170. Please Note: There will be no Adoration on Good Friday, April 14.

Mission Statement St. Mary’s Catholic Community
strives to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, “love one another.” Jesus is the heart of our community and Sunday Liturgy is the center of our worship. With Mary as our patroness and model, we open our hearts and community to all. As we journey in faith, we grow through our sacramental life, Christian education, and opportunities for spiritual enrichment. Our vision is expressed in a commitment to peace and justice, respect for all life, appreciation for the unique gifts of every person, and outreach to those in need. Our parish family affirms all members in their search for truth as they meet the challenge of being Catholics in this modern world.

RANDOM THOUGHTS FROM THE PASTOR
Congratulations to St. Mary’s CYO Cadet Boys 7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball Team who defeated Sacred Heart of East Boston last Saturday to retain the Archdiocesan Championship. They are pictured below holding the Championship Trophy. Please join us for the Communal Penance Service next Sunday. All are welcome to this special Service of Reconciliation.
Hard to believe that Spring is finally here, at least that’s what the calendar says. Easter will be here before we know it and, as usual, on Good Friday, our Youth Group will be performing the Passio, a dramatic, moving portrayal of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ. If you have never seen it, you are missing out on a wonderful experience. On Good Friday afternoon, we will be presenting the Living Stations of the Cross, another enriching experience. Once again, Kathy McCarthy will be heading up the committee to decorate the altars for Easter. Many hands make lighter work; so if you are able to help in this effort, please call the rectory and let us know.
A special Reconciliation service will be held at
St. Mary’s Church We will welcome you with open arms.
Prayer ~ Scripture ~ Healing You may approach the priest and extend your hands to him. Tell him how long it has been since your last Reconciliation. Tell him you are sorry and if there is something you need to say to him, you may do so at this time. Otherwise receive the absolution of the church and find that beautiful peace of which Jesus speaks.
Jesus loves you.

Hunger knows no season. The Knights of Columbus is asking for your support for this very important Food for Families program. During the Lenten season, we are asking each parishioner to contribute one can of food per day during the 40 days of Lent. Please bring your contribution to church and leave them at the back of the church. Members of Saint John Vianney will collect the cans after the 11:30am Sunday Mass.
Catholics across the Archdiocese are invited to pledge their support to the annual Catholic Appeal. If you were unable to make your pledge at Mass, please take a pledge form from the back of the church or pledge online at: bostoncatholicappeal.org. Thank you for your prayers for a successful Catholic Appeal.
Special “Easter Flower” envelopes are available at the back of the church for anyone to remember their loved ones on Easter. This will allow us to plan more effectively for our Easter décor.
LIVING STATIONS OF THE CROSS
GOOD FRIDAY AT 3:00pm in the Upper Church
Please join us for this moving, contemporary presentation, as we reflect on the Passion of the Lord. At each station characters from history and modern times will testify how Jesus’ sufferings foreshadowed events in their own lives. Please come and bring your family and friends. This is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to reflect on the journey of Our Lord to the cross and how we might follow in his footsteps.

Today’s Reflection Most of us cannot imagine blindness. We’ve always been able to see. Spiritual blindness, however, is more common. For example, we look back in history and can’t imagine how people could own slaves and still consider themselves good Christians. Blindness still exists and we need to hear this reading often. The Pharisees’ blindness is called out by Jesus. What about our own? Do we judge others and not see our sinfulness? What about our prejudices? Do we hide behind language such as “hate the sin but love the sinner”? We need to be careful of our attitudes. Let’s start today with our blindness. Where do we not see our evil? Do we have the courage to ask another to help us see?
