Dear brothers and sisters In prayer, lift up our hearts to God. We all know the classic story of the dedicated family man who exclaims to his wife: “Honey, please, do not ask me anymore whether I love you. I told you so when we got married ten years ago. I provide for the family and pay all the bills, including the notes on the new refrigerator and the mink I gave you for Christmas...” All this shows that he loves her. Is that not enough? The fact is that it is not! His wife wants to hear that he loves her over and over again, and he needs to say it. If this is not done, these two people will drift apart and jeopardize their marriage. Our relationship with God is that of a sacred partnership or covenant that has clearly marital overtones. Of course, no comparison is adequate. God does not feel unhappy when you do not encounter him directly in prayer or fail to say that you love him and appreciate what he is doing for you.. But you need to do so! And if you do not, you will drift away from him, regardless of our charity to others. Today’s reading deal with people conversing with God. Their examples may expire us. Have a look at yourself during this Lent. “Do I find prayer important? How often and when do I pray? Does my daily Bible reading result in meditative prayer to God? In the first reading, it is a question of the Covenant with Abram. From this reading, we can see that a living faith in God is the prerequisite for prayer. Abraham put his faith in the Lord. A trance fell upon Abraham, and in prayer he experienced God who sealed his faith with a covenant. The ancient covenant rite (two people making a covenant) prescribed that the sacrificial animals be divided into two halves and the contracting parties walk in between, stating that they were willing to become like the dismembered animals if they should fail to keep the covenant. In the tradition found in this reading, it is God who seals the covenant by passing between the “pieces” in the form of a ‘smoking fire pot and a flaming torch”. Remember that fire symbolizes God’s presence; think about Pentecost, for instance. What is the sacred writer, inspired by God, trying to teach us? Obviously, that we should follow Abraham’s example of faith and conversing with God. By doing this, we will experience that the Lord is our “Light” and “salvation” Genesis 15: 5-12, 17-18. Talking to the Philippians in the second reading, Paul, invites them to follow him as he follows Jesus Christ, whom we see in today’s Gospel as a man of prayer. In him, we own the Citizenship in Heaven. At the beginning of the Eucharistic Prayer, the priest invites you to lift up your hearts. Paul does the same by inviting those who are occupied with earthly things to look up to heaven. Then God will give a new form to our lowly body as we see indicated in the Lord Jesus praying in the mountain Philippians 3:17-4:1. Jesus was a man of prayer. Luke compares him with Moses and Elijah who often conversed with God in prayer. He wants his disciples to do likewise. Peter said: “Master, it is good that we are here”. Prayer is something you must learn and by doing it regularly you will find out it has meaning. Only by listening will you hear God’s voice in you. Conversing with God in prayer changes us. It widens our vision, and with God grace it often makes us experience the transcendent, in other words, it makes us that there must be something more than simply what we can observe with our senses Luke 9:28-36.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas, En la oración, levantar nuestros corazones a Dios. Todos conocemos la clásica historia del hombre de familia dedicado que exclama a su esposa: "cariño, por favor, no me pregunten más si te amo. Te lo dije cuando nos casamos hace diez años. I brindar a la familia y pagar todas las facturas, incluyendo las notas sobre el nuevo refrigerador y el visón que te di para la Navidad..." Todo esto demuestra que él la ama. ¿No es suficiente? El hecho es que no es! Su esposa quiere escuchar que él la ama una y otra vez, y necesitaba decirlo. Si esto no se hace, estas dos personas mandilan aparte y poner en peligro su matrimonio. Nuestra relación con Dios es la de una sagrada Alianza o pacto que tiene connotaciones claramente civiles. Por supuesto, no la comparación es adecuada. Dios no se siente infeliz cuando no le encuentro directamente en oración o dejar de decir que lo amo y apreciar lo que está haciendo para usted... Pero tienes que hacerlo! Y si no, se deriva de él, independientemente de nuestra caridad a los demás. La primera Lectura de hoy trata con personas conversando con Dios. Sus ejemplos nos pueden inspirar. Echa un vistazo a ti mismo durante esta Cuaresma. ¿"Encuentro oración importante? ¿Con qué frecuencia y cuándo rezar? ¿Es mi diaria lectura resultan en oración meditativa a Dios de la Biblia? En la primera lectura, se trata del pacto con Abram. Desde esta lectura, podemos ver que una fe viva en Dios es el requisito previo para la oración. Abraham puso su fe en el Señor. Chers frères et sœurs bien-aimés, Dans la prière, élevons nos cœurs vers Dieu ! Nous connaissons tous l’histoire classique de l’homme de famille dévoué qui s’exclame à son conjoint : « amour, s’il vous plaît, ne me demandez pas plus si je vous aime. Je vous l’ai dit lorsque nous nous sommes mariés il y a dix ans. J’ai tout fourni à la famille et payé toutes les factures, y comprises les notes sur le nouveau réfrigérateur et le présent que je vous ai donné pour Noël... » Tout cela montre qu’il l’aime. Ne suffit-il pas ? Le fait est qu’il ne l’est pas ! Votre conjoint veut entendre que vous le dites encore et encore. Si ce n’est pas fait, ces deux personnes se divisent et risquent de mettre en danger leur mariage. Notre relation avec Dieu est une sainte alliance ou pacte qui a une connotation clairement civile. Bien sûr, la comparaison n’est pas appropriée. Dieu ne se sent pas malheureux quand je ne peux pas le trouver directement dans la prière ou quand j’arrête de le dire que de dire que je l’aime et j’apprécie ce qu’il fait pour moi... Mais il faut le faire ! Et si ce n’est pas en rapport avec lui, quel que soit notre organisme de bienfaisance envers les autres, cela ne sert à rien. La première Lecture de ce dimanche parle des gens conversant avec Dieu. Leurs exemples peuvent bien nous inspirer. Jetez un coup d’œil sur vous-même pendant ce Carême. « Je pense que la prière est importante ? Avec quelle fréquence et quel rythme que je prie ? C’est dans mon quotidien de lire le résultat obtenu dans la prière méditative à Dieu de la Bible ? Dans la première Lecture, c’est l’alliance avec Abram. De cette lecture, nous pouvons voir qu’une foi vivante en Dieu est la condition sine qua non pour la prière. Abraham a mis sa foi dans le Seigneur. Une transe est tombée sur Abraham et dans la prière, il a eu l’expérience de Dieu qui a scellé un pacte avec lui. Le rythme de l’ancienne alliance (deux personnes qui font un pacte) prescrit que les animaux d’abattage sont partagés en deux moitiés et les parties contractantes se tenant au milieu en indiquant qu’ils étaient prêts à être sacrifiés comme les animaux démembrés, s’ils ne peuvent pas rester fidèles au Pacte. Dans la tradition de cette lecture, c’est Dieu qui a scellé le pacte en passant entre les « morceaux » sous la forme d’une ' fumée de pot de feu et une torche enflammée. N’oubliez pas que le feu symbolise la présence de Dieu ; Pensez à la Pentecôte, par exemple. Quel est l’écrivain sacré, inspiré par Dieu, essayant de nous instruire ? De toute évidence, nous devons suivre l’exemple de la foi d’Abraham et de converser avec Dieu. En le faisant, nous ferons l’expérience que le Seigneur est notre « Lumière » et notre « Salut » Genèse 15:5-12, 17 et 18. S’adressant aux Philippins dans la deuxième lecture, Paul, nous invite à le suivre comme lui-même il suit Jésus-Christ dont nous voyons dans l’Évangile d’aujourd'hui comme étant un homme de prière. Dans cette lecture, nous sommes des citoyens du ciel. Au début de la prière eucharistique, le prêtre nous invite à élever nos cœurs. Paul en fait de même en invitant ceux qui sont préoccupés par les choses terrestres à regarder vers le ciel. Puis Dieu nous donnera une nouvelle forme à notre humble corps comme ils sont indiqués dans le Seigneur Jésus priant sur la montagne Philippins 3:17-4:1. Jésus était un homme de prière. Luc compare Jésus avec Moïse et Élie, qui a souvent conversé avec Dieu dans la prière. Il veut que ses disciples fassent de même. Pierre lui dit : « Maître, il est bon que nous soyons ici ». La prière est quelque chose qui doit être appris et se faire régulièrement, vous trouverez qu’il a un sens. Juste en écoutant, vous entendrez la voix de Dieu en vous. Conversant avec Dieu par la prière nous change réellement. Élargir notre vision, et avec la grâce de Dieu, nous fait vivre souvent de la transcendance, en d’autres termes, nous fait être quelque chose de plus que simplement ce que nous pouvons observer avec nos sens Luc 9:28-36.

Conosciamo tutti la classica storia dell'uomo di famiglia dedicato che esclama a sua moglie: "Tesoro, per favore, non chiedermi più se ti amo. Te l'avevo detto quando ci siamo sposati dieci anni fa. Fornisco la famiglia e pago tutte le bollette, comprese le note sul nuovo frigorifero e il visone che ti ho regalato per Natale ... "Tutto ciò dimostra che la ama. Non è abbastanza? Il fatto è che non lo è! Sua moglie vuole sentire che la ama ancora e ancora, e ha bisogno di dirlo. Se ciò non viene fatto, queste due persone si allontaneranno e metteranno a repentaglio il loro matrimonio. La nostra relazione con Dio è quella di un sacro partenariato o alleanza che ha chiaramente connotazioni coniugali. Naturalmente, nessun paragone è adeguato. Dio non si sente infelice quando non lo incontri direttamente in preghiera o non riesci a dire che lo ami e apprezzi quello che sta facendo per te .. Ma devi farlo! E se non lo fai, ti allontanerai da lui, indipendentemente dalla nostra carità verso gli altri. La lettura di oggi riguarda le persone che conversano con Dio. I loro esempi potrebbero farci scadere. Dai un'occhiata a te stesso durante questa Quaresima. "Trovo importante la preghiera? Quanto spesso e quando prego? La mia lettura biblica quotidiana risulta in preghiera meditativa a Dio? Nella prima lettura, è una questione dell'Alleanza con Abramo. Da questa lettura, possiamo vedere che una fede vivente in Dio è il prerequisito per la preghiera. Abramo ripone la sua fede nel Signore. Una trance cadde su Abramo, e in preghiera sperimentò Dio che sigillò la sua fede con un'alleanza. L'antico rito di alleanza (due persone che fanno un'alleanza) prescriveva che gli animali sacrificali fossero divisi in due metà e le parti contraenti camminassero nel mezzo, affermando che erano disposti a diventare come gli animali smembrati se non riuscissero a mantenere l'alleanza. La preghiera è qualcosa che devi imparare e, facendo regolarmente, scoprirai che ha un significato. Solo ascoltando sentirai la voce di Dio in te. Conversare con Dio in preghiera ci cambia. Allarga la nostra visione, e con la grazia di Dio spesso ci fa sperimentare il trascendente, in altre parole, ci fa sì che ci deve essere qualcosa di più che semplicemente ciò che possiamo osservare con i nostri sensi Luca 9, 28-36.!

Vamos a tener la devoción a San Antonio el miércoles, 20 de marzo, a partir de las 7:pm. Todos son bienvenidos.

TRIDUO EN HONOR A SAN JOSE El sábado, 16 de marzo, vamos a empezar tres días de oración en honor a San José, a las 6:PM. Los grupos apostólicos, en San José dirigirán el primer día. El segundo día, el domingo 17 de marzo, a partir de las 7:pm, será dirigido por el Consejo Parroquial y los Lectores de San Gabriel. El lunes 18 de marzo, el último día, ambos, San Gabriel y San José, llevarán a cabo la oración. Todo comienza a las 7:pm. Todos está invitados. !

REUNION DEL CONSEJO PARROQUIAL El próximo jueves, 21 de marzo, 2019 será el tercer jueves del mes. Tendremos nuestra reunión del Consejo Parroquial. Estaremos muy contentos de darle la bienvenida a Elizabeth García en esta reunión. Ella hablará con nosotros sobre el programa de la Arquidiócesis Renovación y Reconstrucción. Será una reunión muy importante.

TUESDAY DEVOTIONS IN HONOR OF ST. ANTHONY

Tuesday March 12, 2019, was the first Tuesday of St. Anthony’s Devotion at St. Joseph Church. Next Tuesday, March 19, will be St. Joseph Feast Day. We will have St. Anthony’s Devotion on Wednesday March 20, starting at 7:pm. Everybody is welcome.

Devotions to Saint Anthony are held every Tuesday until June 4th in preparation of St. Anthony. The church will open by 6:45PM. Confessions will be heard from 7:00 until 7:30PM when the devotions themselves will begin. The devotions consist of prayers, a brief homily, benedictions, veneration of the relic, followed by the blessing and distribution of St. Anthony bread. !

TRIDUUM IN HONOR AT ST. JOSEPH On Saturday, March 16, we will start a three-day of prayer in honor to St. Joseph, at 6:pm. The Apostolic Groups, at St. Joseph, will be leading the first day. The second day, Sunday March 17,starting at 7:pm, it will be led by the Parish Council and Lectors of St. Gabriel. Monday March 18, the last day, both, St. Gabriel St. Joseph, will lead the prayer. Next Thursday, March 21, 2019 will be the third Thursday of the Month. We will have our Parish Council Meeting. We will be very happy to welcome Elizabeth Garcia at this meeting. She will talk to us about Renew & Rebuild. It will be a very important meeting.
