Spring 2018 Highlights:

• Representatives from 99 clubs & orgs attended spring C&O Meetings. Presentation topics included etiquette and professionalism led by Career Services, by-law revision led by the ASEWU Superior Court, and officer transitions led by SAIL staff. Representatives were also given an opportunity to share updates or announcements about their clubs’ recent activities.

• 44 clubs & orgs participated in the Spring C&O Fair held on May 2 on the Campus Mall. This quarter’s fair was held in partnership with Chicano Studies’ Resource Fair. Approx. 400 students attended the event.

Spring 2018 Highlights:

• 58 students participated in two Service Saturday events hosted throughout spring quarter. Volunteers participate in the annual Cheney Clean Sweep, cleaning our parks and streets, as well as, Cheney Mayfest where they had an opportunity to make dog toys that were donated to SCRAPS.

• SAIL had the opportunity to bring Lauren Cook, who has her masters in marriage and family therapy, to covers the signs of depression and anxiety, and emphasize mindfulness and self-care. Lauren connected with 98 students in a powerful keynote held on April 12.

• SAIL hosted two current events panels during spring

quarter, Mental Health Awareness and Unpacking Racism in the 21st Century that were well received by the campus community. We had 155 students in attendance and received great support from faculty, staff, and community members who participated as moderators and panelists.

Leadership Education

Spring 2018 Highlights:

• 383 students attended 5 late night events held during spring quarter, including library laser tag, succulent planting, trivia, cosmo bowling, and a screening of Black Panther. Cosmo Bowling was co-sponsored by Housing & Residential Life and Health, Wellness & Prevention Services.

• SAIL hosted the annual Student Leadership Excellence Awards on April 25. This event recognizes the outstanding contributions of EWU students, faculty, and staff throughout the previous academic year.

• SAIL partnered with the Registrar’s

Office, Career Services, Alumni Office, and EWU-Spokane to host the 3rd Annual Senior Send-Off and EWU-S End-of-Year Celebration.

Spring 2018 Highlights:

• In early April, Eagle Entertainment delivered a donation check for $5,480 to Odyssey Youth Movement based on funds raised from their annual drag show in February. The money will be used to sponsor community outreach initiatives and support programs for LGBTQ+ youth and teens in the Spokane area.

• Eagle Entertainment hosted their annual Club Vegas event on April 14 as part of Spring Family Weekend. The event was held in Showalter lobby and was followed by a performance by illusionist Derek Hughes. 460 students and family members were in attendance.

• On April 17, Eagle Entertainment partnered with the Office of Sustainability to host the 2nd Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival – EWU Edition. This nationally-known film festival features sustainability and wilderness documentaries with our version being selected by EWU students. Prior to the festival, EPIC Adventures hosted a slack line and s’mores event outside Showalter Hall.

• As part of Asian American & Pacific Islander Month, Eagle Entertainment sponsored the dance rock

band The Slants on campus on May 10. Later that day, Slants lead singer Simon Tam gave a keynote about their landmark supreme court victory that gave them the right to trademark their controversial group name.

• Eagle Entertainment hosted their annual Last Blast Week from May 29-June 1, which included a Murder

Mystery Dinner, a 100 ft. water slide at The Blitz, the late night movie Black Panther, and the Swoopalooza music festival.
