About Us

Safe at Home Senior Care was founded by Steve Glenn in 2006. Safe at Home was created based on a need that Steve recognized for improved senior and disabled adult care services in Santa Cruz County.

Prior to Safe at Home’s inception, Steve Glenn founded Oceanside Supported Living. Oceanside Supported Living is an agency that provides a variety of services that enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Steve began working with individuals with developmental disabilities when he was a teenager volunteering at his local YMCA.

Providing services to individuals that are underserved in the community has been Steve’s life’s work. Steve Glenn committed his entire life working with seniors and adults with disabilities, positively impacting the lives of thousands of people along the way. Sadly, Steve passed away in April of 2014 from cancer but his legacy lives on.

Assessment

The assessment interview is an opportunity for us to visit you in your home to learn more about your needs and answer any questions you might have about our services.

We start this process by conducting an in-depth, no charge assessment of you or your loved ones lifestyle, medical condition(s) and the types of assistance needed that will help him/her to remain safe and independent at home.

We do this by listening to you to understand your situation. Our ultimate goal is to find the right match for you or your loved one. We conduct our assessment interviews with an objective approach. Understanding that everyone’s individual care needs are unique, there may be times in which the scope of our offerings may not be the ideal match for what you seek.

Safe at Home Senior Care is a trusted agency in the community. We partner with many local agencies that provide senior care services in Santa Cruz County. If we are not the ideal match based on your needs, we are happy to refer you or your loved one to one of our many trusted referral partners. The majority of the time, we jointly come to the joint determination that our services can provide great value to our prospective clients. Once this is determined, we work closely together to develop a customized care plan that covers the following areas:
