Prayers for Fr David Hutton

Parishioners and friends of Sacred Heart Church are asked to dedicate their prayers for the intention of Fr David. The parish will be dedicating all public rosaries and hours of adoration for the intention of Fr David. Additionally, the parish has novena prayers dedicated to St. Jude and Our Lady of Perpetual Help on the back table of the church for the special intention for Fr David.

From Fr John… If someone insults you or tries to take advantage of you, how do you respond? Do you repay in kind? Jesus approached the question of just retribution with a surprising revelation of God's intention for how we should treat others, especially those who mistreat us. When Jesus spoke about God's law, he did something no one had done before. He gave a new standard based not just on the requirements of justice - giving each their due - but based on the law of grace, love, and freedom. We pray…. "Lord Jesus, your love brings freedom and pardon. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and set my heart ablaze with your love so that nothing may take away my peace, my joy, nor make me bitter towards anyone." AMEN.

First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, Apostle of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, received the unique favour of being visited by Our Lord Himself, who asked her to spread devotion to His Most Sacred Heart. For all Catholic men and women, families and young people troubled by the many afflictions of modern life, here is the greatest source of spiritual and temporal help, graces and blessings. Those who truly love the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ can make a novena of Holy Communion, in honour of the Sacred Heart, on the first Friday of the month for nine successive months.

Parish Clothing Shop Good news from the SHINE appeal (maintenance fund for our church) – the clothes you have kindly donated have raised a substantial amount of money. The appeal is still ongoing and you can donate good quality clothing, shoes, and bags. Come and visit the parish clothes shop in the church hall most Sundays after 10:30am Holy Mass or week days after 12:15pm Mass and Holy Rosary. The clothes shop is usually open until 3pm. Please drop off your donations directly in the hall. Many thanks for your continuing support. Helena

First Saturday Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

The First Saturday Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was first mentioned by Our Lady of Fatima to the three children on 13 July, 1917. To make reparations we are called to do the following: on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, go to confession, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and stay with Our Lady for fifteen minutes while meditating on fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to her.
