Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily

into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the

+HYMN
“O God Beyond All Praising”
O God beyond all praising, we worship you today
And sing the love amazing that songs cannot repay;
For we can only wonder at ev’ry gift you send,
At blessings without number and mercies without end:
We lift our hearts before you and wait upon your word,
We honor and adore you, our great and mighty Lord.
Then hear, O gracious Savior, accept the love we bring,
That we who know your favor may serve you as our king;
And whether our tomorrows be filled with good or ill,
We’ll triumph through our sorrows and rise to bless you still:
To marvel at your beauty and glory in your ways,
And make a joyful duty our sacrifice of praise.

+AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven
and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally
begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God
from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he
came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the
Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified
under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third
day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended
into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will
come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his
kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who
proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the
Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the
prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We
acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for
the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
WE GATHER TO WORSHIP
The music of the Opening Voluntary draws us from the outside world into the presence of God. In preparation for worship, you are invited
to use this time for prayerful reflection.
OPENING VOLUNTARY "Prayer of St. Gregory" Alan Hohvaness
George Mayo, trumpet
WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS Rev. Dr. Dan Lewis [Please pass the friendship register down the row for each person to sign.]
CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 133
Proclaim with me the greatness of the Lord;
let us exalt the name of the Lord together.
Come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.
+HYMN 619
“Praise My Soul, the God of Heaven” (Psalm 103) LAUDA ANIMA
CALL TO CONFESSION (from 1 John 1: 8, 9) Leslie Watson If we say that we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In humility and faith let us confess our sin to God.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty God, by water and your Holy Spirit you baptized us to be your own and called the church into being. We confess that we hold back the love of your Spirit among us.
We do not listen for your word of grace, speak the good news of your love, or live as a people made one in Christ. Have mercy on us, O God.
Transform our lives by the power of your Holy Spirit and make strong our common witness to the one Lord, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Silent Prayers of Confession
KYRIE Merbecke
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON from Ephesians 2: 4, 5a, 6a, 8
God, who is rich in mercy,
out of the great love with which God loved us,
even when we were dead through our sin,
made us alive together with Christ
and raised us up with him.
For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and this is not your own doing;
it is the gift of God. Amen.
[+You are invited to stand. For each hymn, please stand as the last line of the introduction is played.]
