Castillo Maimón.
Together with our nextstop, this building waspart of the Aqua Nova Domitiana Augusta water main. It was builtin the Ist century, A.D.It was a castellum aquaeto store water, whichwas later delivered to the city water tanks.

Fuente de La Palomera
It was part of theAqva Nova Domitiana Augusta water main, originally built in the Roman times. It is a cistern or watertank with twospouts, with itscurrent constructiondating back fromthe XVIIIth century.

Water arrived in the city housesbecause there was a network of communicating vessels.
It was posible thanks to a systemof:

The iron bridge
It was opened to traffic on the 5th of September, 1873. Itwas part of the trackthat connectedCordoba and Belmez(mining area). Steamlocomotives servicedthis line. The bridge is33 metres high fromthe stream bed and ithas a span of 159 metres. It lies on twocentral piers.

Los Velascos
Los Velascos was the largestcountry house in the area. Itis located at 252 metres above sea level and it has a large building containing a large number of rooms, a stable (West side), an inneryard and,even, an oven. A large threshing flooroccupied the Southern partof the property. Theproduction of cereal was itsmost important labour.

It is the place wherefarmers used to separatethe grain from the cereal plant by some mechanicalmeans. The grains fell onthe ground and the rest of the plant was blown bythe wind.
