1. ABOUT THIS DOCUMENT
1.1 Introduction
The FXFB and FXFC RF modules are used for RF Sharing sites i.e. GSM and PCS bands. Previous deployment ofRFSH sites only accommodated up to 2+2+2 configuration on the PCS band with FSME rel 2 HW. With theinstallation of FSMF on RFSH sites, and recommended SW version, markets that have the need for more capacitycan now add a 3
rd PCS carrier. The addition of a 3
rd carrier on the PCS band will require the GSM carries to be limited
to 2+2+2.
For configurations 1A, 1C and 4G (3 sector site) which uses type K RF sharing the growth path to 3+3+3 is as follows:• FXFB can be kept but needs an additional OBSAI (fiber link) between each FXFB and FSMF to support 3+3+3.• 20W/carrier and up to 3 TRX@20W is supported • New hybrid jumper with 3 f iber pairs• FSMF+FBBA is required to support 3+3+3
For configurations 2A, 2C and 4G (1 sector site) which uses type K RF sharing the growth path to 3+3+3 is as follows:• FXFB can be kept (1OBSAI FSMF-FXFB is enough)• FSMF+FBBA will be needed to suppor t 3+3+3 (not required for 1 sector on 4G) and is the only change of HWrequired• 20W/carrier and up to 3 TRX@20W is supported
For ground sites with RF sharing (3E/3I) the growth to 2+2+2, 3+3+3 and 4+4+4 is as follows:• Because of power limitations of FXFB, FXFC is required for 2+2+2 to sustain 40W/carrier and same TRX power forGSM• FSMF+FBBA is required to support 2+2+2 and above • FOSH (6Gbps MM SFP) should be used to keep 1 OBSAI between each FXFC and FSMF • Can support:
3+3+3@30W and 2 TRX@30W
The addition of the 3rd
carrier will/may require the local Market to execute RF optimization where adjacencies areconcerned. This document does not address RF optimization for addition of 3
rd carrier.
It is imperitive for the local market to refer to T-Mobiles 3rd
and 4th carrier addition Design Document for additional
information, especially the possible reallocation of the GSM spectrum to accommodate the 20MHz DL IBW of theFXFB and and the 35MHz DL IBW of the FXFC.
1.2 Scope
This supplement MOP has been created in accordance with the generic NSN Flexi WCDMA BTS and includes all the
specific tasks that need to be carried out for the addition of a 3rd
and possible 4th
carrier to the RFSH PCS band inaccordance with NSN Flexi WCDMA BTS FSMF+FBBA+ FXFB or FSMF+FBBA+FXFC H/W Implementation Projects .The MOP assumes that the candidate sites are already on air and configured for 2+2+2 with FSMF+FBBA+FXFB/C. The document also assumes that the GSM frequencies have already been reallocated tofacilitate the addition of a 3rd carrier.

1.3 Purpose
This document will outline the addition of a 3rd
carrier to the FXFB and FXFC RFM in the NSN Flexi MR-WCDMA base
station into the operator’s network. The document will also take into account the necessary cell configuration thatneeds to be done on the serving RNCs.
2. PREREQUISITES
Before addition of 3rd
carrier, ensure the system module and RF module meets the following conditions. Note that thesite configuration can also be done remotely. However a site vist will be necessary to swap out the SFPs.
Check list: FSMF System Module A.102
FSMF should have WN8.0.2.0 i.e. WN 8.0_1308_XYZ_ab
FBBA Extension Module 102
Any optional sub-modules needed on target site and front cover PC with LAN cable if BTS changes are being made locally
2G and 3G compatible BTS Site Manager
2G and 3G frequency plan per T-Mobile Market Design Plan
Acesss to RNC OMS that host the candidate sites.
Access to BSC that host the candidate sites
For addition sfp and cable requirements refer to Appendix A
