RSNA 2010 Advance Registration and Housing
We are in the midst of a very exciting time for radiology—and for
medicine in general. Your presence at the RSNA annual meeting
means you will have your fi nger on the pulse of the very latest
trends and breakthroughs aff ecting our specialty.
This year, a joint session with the European
Society of Radiology will demonstrate excellence in
oncologic imaging, while sessions like Latin
America Presents and China Presents showcase top
research and valuable contributions to medicine
from those regions. Hot Topic sessions explore
hot-button and late-breaking topics that will defi ne
new frontiers for our practice. The new Controver-
sies sessions will present controversial topics in a
point-counterpoint format.
Scientifi c and educational session materials will
be available electronically, and the online Meeting
Program will be more user friendly and sophisti-
cated than in previous years, with searchable topics
and subspecialties.
As with all RSNA annual meetings, you will have
access to hundreds of the most relevant scientifi c
presentations, refresher courses, education exhibits,
interactive sessions, self-assessment modules, and
case-based courses. The RSNA annual meeting is
the premier event for connecting with colleagues
and having meaningful conversations with
radiology’s leaders.
We are in a position to set an outstanding example
for medicine as our specialty moves forward.
There is no better place to prepare yourself for
the healthcare revolution than RSNA 2010.
I look forward to seeing you in Chicago,
November 28 – December 3.
Hedvig Hricak, MD, PhD, Dr(hc)
2010 RSNA President

nationals of certain countries to travel to the
United States for tourism or business for stays of
90 days or less without obtaining a visa. For more
information go to travel.state.gov/visa/visa_1750.
html and click Visa Waiver program.
Travel Approval Required for Visa Waiver
Countries. A valid ESTA approval is required for all
Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries/travelers to
travel to the United States. The Department of
Homeland Security Electronic System for Travel
Authorization (ESTA) is a free, automated system
used to determine the eligibility of visitors to travel
to the United States under the VWP. It collects the
same information as the paper I-94W form that
VWP travelers fi ll out before travel to the United
States. ESTA applications may be submitted at any
time prior to travel. An ESTA authorization
generally will be valid for up to 2 years. Authoriza-
tions will be valid for multiple entries into the
United States. DHS recommends that travelers
submit an ESTA application as soon as they begin
making travel plans. Learn more about ESTA at
https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/.
Important Update: Eff ective January 20, 2010, the
Department of Homeland Security is transitioning
to enforced compliance of the ESTA requirement
for VWP travelers. Therefore, VWP travelers who
have not obtained approval through ESTA should
expect to be denied boarding on any air carrier
bound for the United States. Apply at
https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/.
