ROYAL HUISMAN KETCH

BROKER'S COMMENTS

''The Royal Huisman "Deneb of Rye" is an excellent example of how this yard builds very high quality yachts. Designed

by Henry A. Scheel. He studied naval architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A very elegant

appearance as a sailing yacht and in more then average condition (recent survey report available), due to the complete

refit of Royal Huisman in 2003. The Royal Huisman has been stored indoors for several years in a climatized shed. The

ship is perfectly equipped, so you can easily sail her without a crew. Now is the unique opportunity to become the

owner of this yacht!''

EXPERTISE REPORT Beekmann Expertise in Muiden received instructions from the owner of the sailing yacht mentioned below, to carry out a survey in April 2021. Name of the yacht:

“DENEB OF RYE”

Report number: 21033 Huisman “Deneb of Rye” Beekmann Expertise

April 2021 2

Assignment: To assess the general condition of the sailing yachty “DENEB OF RYE”. Explanation: The yacht is in dry storage in a heated building. The inspection took place on April 12, 2021. It was only a visual inspection as no engines, pumps, etc. could be started because the yacht is in dry storage. The navigation equipment could not be tested either because the masts are not stepped. I inspected the inside and outside of the yacht in the presence of the owner. The masts were stored high in the mast storage space and I visually inspected them from the ground. Sailing yacht details: Type Royal Huisman Ketch rigged sailing yacht Name Deneb of Rye Dimensions 23.24 x 5.40 x 2.70 m Material Aluminium Year of construction 1995 Build number 363 Refit 2003 by Huisman Shipyard Engine MTU 6R 099 TA 61 Power 125 kW Genset Northern Lights Power 10 kVA Refit. After the refit, the yacht was not used much and has since been stored in the heated building. During the refit, the hull and cockpit fittings were dismantled to thoroughly and accurately spray new coats of paint. Inspected: Hull below the waterline: The hull below the waterline has been antifouled and is neat and smooth. I could not detect any thick or loose layers of paint. The controllable pitch propeller in good condition. No corrosion could be observed. The anodes are in a more than adequate condition. Hull above the waterline: Repainted (spray-painted) during the refit in 2003 and in good condition. Bulwarks: The teak bulwarks have been high gloss varnished and are in a good condition.

Teak deck: The deck, cabin roof and cockpit are covered with solid teak. The teak deck is overall in a good condition. The aluminium bulwark is well-coated with a teak, varnished gunwale on top. Cockpit: Cockpit floor and seating is covered with teak and in good condition. A spacious cockpit with steering position and teak steering wheel. Bilges: The inside, the bilges of the ship are easily accessible. The bilges are clean and well-coated. The through-hull fittings consist of thick-walled aluminium pipes with polymer seacocks. The tanks have not been opened during my inspection. Engine room: The engine room has a watertight door and an exit via the deck. The engine room has sufficient space for maintenance of the main engine, genset, pumps, watermaker etc. The MTU main engine has 6,048 engine hours The genset has 5,122 operating hours. The CO2 firefighting installation must be re-inspected. An ample amount of spare parts are packed in plastic crates. All types of tools are stored and well-secured. Electrical system: Professionally installed system. Well-documented with each wire numbered for any troubleshooting. Traction batteries, 24 Volt, with a capacity of 1150 Ah. Interior The teak interior is top-class, and is well-varnished. Spacious skylights with stainless steel hardware and turning openers. Rigging: The masts were in the mast rack high up in the building. Both booms are stored on the cabin roof and are in good condition. The paint system is also in good condition. The hydraulic system has ample capacity and is prepared to hydraulically control the mainsail and mizzen as well. Conclusion: This yacht built by Huisman yacht is both technically and cosmetically in a very good condition. No expense was spared in terms of materials and execution, making the yacht unique and in top condition.
