Bill Webb, Operating Partner, Fenway Partners

Bill Webb serves as an operating partner with Fenway Partners, a New York City-based private equity firm with ownership in a number of portfolio companies in the trucking and logistics, retail, and manufacturing industries. In his position Bill is involved in helping grow the Fenway portfolio through acquisitions and he helps lead the management of the various Fenway properties and their more than 10,000 employees and associates in the U.S, Canada, and China. He also leads the firm’s efforts to leverage purchasing and business practices across the portfolio.

Bill is also the founding partner of Legacy Foundation and Event Management. The firm specializes in managing private foundations and charities for professional athletes, corporations and individuals.

Prior to joining Fenway, Bill served 10 years as President and CEO of a statewide trade association representing the transportation industry in Texas. In that capacity, he served as the association’s chief lobbyist and spokesman and lead a statewide political and administrative team.

Bill is also an author and recognized speaker. His first book, Igniting The Blue Flame: Answering The Call To Leadership, capitalizes on his work over the past decade in developing the Blue Flame Project, a national leadership initiative. He delivers keynote speeches and leadership training sessions throughout the U.S. and Canada. He also authors Catch Fire, a weekly leadership newsletter delivered to thousands of executives. His second book, Overcoming the Inertia of Average, is due to be released in 2011.

Bill and his wife Jill, along with son Clayton, and twin sons Brandon and Hayden, live in Southlake. He is active in a number of charitable causes, is a leader in the Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Kiwanis, and currently serves as chairman of the board of the Open Road Foundation and Friends For Kids, both public charities. He serves on the executive committee of the Texas Stampede, a rodeo event benefitting Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, and on the board of Childcare Group in Dallas. He is a member of the Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate.
