Rotary Club of Somerton Park Inc. | Chartered 7 April 1988 Club Bulletin It's hard to believe we are are halfway through the Rotary year already. It has certainly come around quickly and I would like to thank everyone in the club for their support in the last 6 months - I think it is shaping up to be another very successful year for our club. We have had a number of successful events starng with the "Along Comes Mary" cabaret night in August which raised around $3700, the Wine boling in October which raised about $4400 and the Christmas Cruise Loery which raised just over $11,800. If you add our money spinner, Harvey Norman BBQ's and the re- cent Taxi Council BBQ, we have raised over $25,000 in the first 6 months of the year and spent over $19,000 on various charies, youth sponsorship and other community organisaons & events. There are many people to thank and rather than trying to name everyone & risk leaving someone out, I will simply say you know who you are and I can assure you, your hard work and efforts are much appreciat- ed. As I menoned at our AGM on Tuesday we have printed new generic business cards for the club and everyone has received 20 cards to get started. There are over another 500 cards remaining and these are stored in the cupboard at the motel if you need more. We will also be geng a club brochure final- ised in the new year which we will hand out to mem- bers. It's hard to believe we are are halfway through the Rotary year already. It has certainly come around quickly and I would like to thank everyone in the club for their support in the last 6 months - I think it is shaping up to be another very successful year for our club. We have had a number of successful events starting with the

Raffle Results

16th Dec 2014

Kris Kringle

The Raffle was as ever a major fundraiser and great suc-cess for the Club, raising close to $12000 for club pro-jects and activities. 1st Prize Ticket No: 3162 Michael McMillan 2nd Prize " " 7997 Sarah Campbell 3rd Prize " " 8502 Jan Vade RC H/Cove 4th Prize " " 8621 Harry Barnham RC H/Cove 5th Prize " " 6452 Sue Miller 6th Prize " " 2912 Sharon Dwyer 7th Prize " " 6171 Stephen Knoll

All prize winners have been notified and prizes delivered

On contacting Michael McMillan to advise him of his Prize he asked about 5 times if the correct phone number had been contacted and whether I had the right person, as he and his wife Wendy had never won anything in their lives.

Wendy and Michael are members of the Tutti Choir and purchased the tickets to help Tutti not think-ing that they would actually win a Cruise for 10 days. They have 3 daughters 2 with disabilities and 1 daughter who is married and

has given them 2 grandsons.

On delivering the Voucher on Sunday Wendy and Mi-chael still couldn't believe the win and Aimee who be-longs to Tutti (you all know her as the bubbly, curly haired young lady with the powerful voice and great smile who is on the front cover of this years phone book) was really so pleased for her parents (although would have liked to have won it for herself) as I am told so are her siblings.

To be a Rotarian is a very humbling and emotional ride when so many people can have their lives changed by what we give and do. Linda

Much fun was had as Brenley conducted a simple KK. Some photos are below, the rest can be viewed on the web-site.
