I am pleased to be writing you all again to THANK YOU for your support of the RosevilleArea School Foundation. The funding gap to our public schools is continuing to widen and wecould not exist to support our districts’ teachers, staff, administrators and kids without you!

Enclosed is our Annual Report for your review, which highlights our grantmaking duringthe 2009-2010 school year. The Annual Report describes each of the grants the Foundationhas given. We continue to be impressed by the quantity and innovation of grant requests wereceive. This past school year we awarded a total of $55,069 to grantees, some of whom wereshowcased this year at our Annual Foundation Luncheon. The grants given during the schoolyear, help the district gain greater access to extras like supplies, new technology and tools, specialized resources, guest speakers/educators, and much more that will make a difference inteaching and learning.

As always, these grants are only made possible by your thoughtful giving. Ourfundraising goal for this coming year is to raise $70,000. This is made possible by all ourdonors like you, class gifts and a special acknowledgement to Dick Naughton, president andchief executive of James Steele Construction, and the Naughton family, in providing thefinancial support for the Annual Foundation Luncheon held in September each year. Thesedonations are critical in showing overt support to kids and to the mission of the school district.

Thank you again for your support of the Roseville Area Schools Foundation. We areinspired by the growing network of people who support our mission and our work tocontinuously improve education in the Roseville Area Schools.

Sincerely,Kara J. Sime—Chair, Board of DirectorsRoseville Area Schools Foundation

The Roseville Area Schools Foundation is a non-profit 501c(3) tax-exemptorganization run by a volunteer board of directors who are active supporters ofpublic education in our community. Roseville Area Schools is able to providemany excellent programs due to the financial support of our community and theefforts of staff and students who work tirelessly to make sure that every studenthas the opportunity to learn. Unfortunately, tax dollars do not fund all ourstudents’ needs. The Foundation seeks funds from individuals and corporationsto enhance and supplement the excellent programs which exist in the district.

B A C K G R O U N D

In early 1990, community leaders began exploring ideas to make Roseville AreaSchools’ educational program a model for excellence and innovation. Thoseideas merged with the commitment of the late Roseville area business leader,Robert O. Ashbach. His gift of $53,000 laid the groundwork for the RosevilleArea Schools Foundation. Volunteer Foundation Directors work to build on theideas and initial investment and carefully manage the contributions foreducational enhancement for everyone.

The Roseville Area Schools Foundation seeks support from individuals, foundations and corporations who are interested in public education.

We also seek funds from staff, parents, alumni, and retirees of our schoolsystem. One of largest sources of funds comes from the Roseville Area SchoolsFall Giving Campaign. The Foundation generates funds:• to give to staff as grants to enhance or launch creative and or innovative

projects for students. • to fund programs that are working in our schools, but are limited due to cuts

in public funding, and• to support opportunities and resources to enrich and expand learning

opportunities for students and staff.

H O W T O G I V E

By supporting the Roseville Area Schools Foundation, you can join us ininvesting in the future of our community. Grants given by the Foundationdirectly benefit students in Roseville.
