On Monday, Nursery Classcompleted our transport topic by going on a fun filledtrip to the London Transport Museum! We travelled on a big coach and we wereso excited to look out of the windows at all of the different things we couldsee. When we arrived we were taken to a room where we had a special workshopled by a nice lady who taught us all about different types of buses, past andpresent.

We then were then given the opportunity to go on a special hunt around themuseum before making our very own buses! After lunch we then spent theremainder of our time exploring the rest of the museum, sitting in a wide variety

of different types of transport and even discovering what future transportationmay look like! We all had an excellent day.Presshere

As always Reception Classhad a great morning withteam Eco Active. Theyhelped us to learn all aboutwhy it's even better to reusematerials than recycle them.Everyone was very interestedto learn about landfills andincinerators and agreed theysound like yucky places thanpollute our planet.

We had a good think about whatthings we already reuse and howwe could be even better at this, and then we made our ownfinger puppets from recycledcard, sweet wrappers and otherjunk. They turned out reallylovely and we all agreed thatwe'd like to use more recycledmaterials in our artwork atschool and at home. Presshere

Yesterday in Year 1we had a visit fromthe Eco Active team and did lots of work

regarding reusing. We looked atalternatives to help reduce waste.

We also had a very special guest, Jenny Claridge, who came in to speak to us about woodland andforest animals. We looked at some fantastic imagesof animals on the big screen and discussed some oftheir features and their habitats.

We then moved on to learning about the layers of aforest and why certain animals live in those layers,we placed animals in the layers before making ourown watercolour animal art work. We will continuethis work with fact writing and making a huge

    woodland display. Presshere

Eco active visited us in Year 2 3 thisThursday, they talked to us about re-usingour unwanted items from around thehouse. You could make toys from old juicecartons or notepads out of scrap paper.

They then showed us how to create ashopping bag from old t-shirts. These arere-usable and this means we don't have touse plastic bags from the supermarket when we go shopping.

The children were all very proud of theirnew bags and showed them off around theplayground.

    Thanks Eco Active! Presshere

and press here to find out more aboutEco Active. I upcycled my old t-shirt

    and made a fab shopping

    bag!

On Tuesday week its Sports Day! We will head off to Shoreditch Park at 2pmto partake in our

usual track and field events. There will be a specific area assigned for us to use and a space whereyou can watch. Last year, it got a bit congested and we found children throwing javelins nearparents who were taking close-range photos of their children. Although the javelins are not sharp, you will be expected to remain in the area designated for parents throughout the afternoonuntil itsyour turn and we, as ever, will have the dads sprint and the mums sprint so get training now!

    Summer Play Scheme Ideas Board

Along the corridor leading up to Nursery Class, Alannah has put together a board for parents andchildren to write ideas as to what they would like to do during summer play scheme. When youhave a moment, please fill in a space on the board, or email Alannah your idea and she will add itto the board. We want you and your children to tell us what great things you want us to organise

for over the summer in addition to our usual exciting timetable. So have a think, and either let usknow or come in and write your idea on the board. Many thanks in advance.

    Parent Teacher Consultations

During the week beginning 23rdJune, you will have the opportunity to see your childs class teacher
