    We made some yummy crisped ricecakes for Valentines Day in Nursery

    Class this week. We all enjoyedmixing the marshmallows togetherwith the crisped rice and jam and

    then we all got to use the special

    heart shaped cutter! We also madesome beautiful cards to take home

    for someone special!

    On Tuesday, ReceptionClasswere very lucky tohave a visit from a realarchitect! Romi's dad

    came in to show us one ofhis favourite books abouthomes all around theworld. All of the homeswere made of local,natural materials such asbamboo, cactus and evencow dung. The childrenwere captivated by thebeautiful pictures andhopefully will be inspiredas they plan and designtheir own dream homesthis week. They look

    forward to making them

    over half-term!

    This week in Year 1 we finallyfinished our creative writingstories and they are fantastic. Wehad a really fun drama session

    where we went into space tocollect space samples to bringback to earth, we spoke aboutCharles Darwin and how whileon expeditions he would takesamples, make observations anddiscover new species.

    The big news was the arrival ofour alien babies! It was the mostexciting thing ever. In PE weneeded to get across the strangealien terrain and obstacles to

    rescue the King and Queen alongthe way we had differentchallenges such as freezingoceans and wobbly ground.

    In Maths this week in Year 2/3 we have been looking at

    measurements. We made our own smoothie recipes and thoughtabout the volume of each liquid we were using. We measured

    them out very carefully using measuring jugs. We had a great

    time and our smoothies were delicious.

    This week, we switched the Stars of the Weekreasons

    to ones where teachers had identified children for doingoutstanding, miscellaneous things during the week.

    The focus of being extra friendly, kind to each other,inclusive and tolerant was reserved for our prize

    winners. This way, were all clear on why children

    receive certificates and why they receive prizes!

    The Musician of the Week goes to Aina in Year 1.

    She is working well and her behaviour and enthusiasmin every lesson is always excellent! She really enjoyedmaking up her own version of the traditional Africanecho song we were learning this week, coming up withcreative ways of putting the actions and vocal parts

    together. Well done you!!

    The Artist of the Week goes to Yvie in Reception

    Class. Her dream home design shows great imaginationand lovely touches that would make anyone want tolive in it! Lovely work Yvie! Cant see it clearly? Presshere.

    practising to write the other sounds. Well done Lila!

    RECEPTION CLASS

    Ellie - Maefor always being enthusiastic about everything we do at schooland thinking of others. This week Ellie-Mae brought in some of her favouriteCDs for everyone to enjoy. We especially loved singing and dancing to the

    Frozen soundtrack. Ellie-Mae you are a sparkly gem!

    YEAR 1

    TheoThis week Theo has worked extra hard and really concentrated on thetask at hand. He has produced some great writing, has worked hard in maths

    and he has also been following directions very well in class. Well done Theo,keep it up!

    YEAR 2/3

    Cosmo for always being kind and thoughtful with his friends. He alwaysincludes everyone in his games and helps his classmates with their work during

    lessons. Well done Cosmo!

    Half Term Next Week

    Next week is half term. For the Nursery Class and Play Scheme, the school is open (8am 6pm) as

    usual, and if your child is in Reception class or above, you are welcome to sign them up for as little oras many play scheme days as they/you wish. Take a look at the schedulehere.

    Nursery Class Pick-Up

    Could we request that if you are collecting your Nursery Class child at the end of the day and theyare in the classroom that they do not play with the resources? Our staff have tidied up with help from

    the children have put everything back where it belongs for the next day, so wed be grateful if theycollect things from their tray, their water bottles, their coats and bags then set off.
