Rooster is the leading lighting design and manufacturer of lighting fixtures in Taiwan. The business was established in 1989. In 2005 it became the first enterprise that entered the Pingtung Export Processing Zone. Customised lighting fixtures Railway image bollard Bicycle Pathway, Pier No. 2 Art Centre Kaohsiung, Taiwan Completion 2012/10

In order to display an old cultural atmosphere, Rooster designed the bollard light inspired by the shape of a railway and railroad crossing signs. The design does not only integrate the historical characteristics, but also provides bicycle trail lights both during the day and at night. The bollard design has successfully transformed the unique Kaohsiung Harbor Railway Station into a great tourist destination.

Customised lighting fixtures Pea Sprout image landscape lighting Da-Dong Art Center Kaohsiung, Taiwan Completion 2012/04

Mr. Chang Ma Long; the architect of Da-Dong Art Center had a special request to make “pea sprouts” shaped landscape lights in order to suit his unique architectural design. Rooster design team displayed superior technology in considering the architect’s requests while still meeting the lighting standards. The slightly curved pea sprout lights along the bicycle path behind the art center shines a warm white color onto the building bringing a more artistic atmosphere to the environment.

Bus station lighting design with RGB LEDs Lighting control system Da-Dong Bus Transit Station Kaohsiung, Taiwan Completion 2013/06

We created a colorful hot air balloon like design for Da-Dong Bus Transit station. Through our unique lighting design approach, passengers can now enjoy in a comfortable visual environment while waiting for the buses at night. In all lighting design projects, we always start from a designer’s point of view and design the lighting to enhance the building’s character. At the same time we also consider the users’ point of view. Our aim is to provide the most comfortable lighting environment to all users, with our top quality lighting fixtures.

Customised lighting fixtures The LOVE observation deck Mt. Shoushan Kaohsiung, Taiwan Completion 2013/02

Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau and Rooster have co-designed a “Lovers observation deck” to provide visitors a platform to look upon Kaohsiung’s landscape as well as create a romantic atmosphere. In order to add to the romantic atmosphere, a decorative artwork called “LOVE megaphone” was installed to convey the romantic notion of love, which is to say it out LOUD. In addition, the dimmed light diffusing out from the word “LOVE” in the artwork represents a couple’s ambiguous heartbeat.

Riverside lighting design LOVE River Kaohsiung, Taiwan Completion 2012/02

The Love River is the first impression most visitors would have of Kaohsiung city. The lights at night make a difference and create a romantic atmosphere along the Love River. It all started with the lighting from the bridge across the river, then the water wave projected onto the nearby building‘s wall by our customised “ water effect project lights”, which makes people feel like roaming on the river. Moreover, the warm yellowish lights were projected onto the trees along the riverside to develop a feel of a sea breeze. Finally, our design team used LED light modules and point lights to make the stone fence look like dazzling pearls on the river.

Church architectural lighting design Taiwan Presbyterian Church Pingtung City, Taiwan Completion 2011/08

From scene investigations to discussions, calculations, and simulation proposals, it only took three days to get the church’s approval on the design concept. After the light installation, Pastor Xu and the church members were satisfied at the first time of testing the lights. This project was designed to use spotlights with 3000K warm white color temperatures. Rooster has accumulated years of lighting experience since 1989, with a group of trained professionals and talented designers, which is why the best lighting effects could be provided in such a short period of time. The classical lighting design not only strengthens the church’s harmony and solemn atmosphere, but also creates a beautiful scenery for Pingtung City.

Railway station lighting design Bei-Hu Railway Station Taoyuan County, Taiwan Completion 2012/10

The goal of this design was to create a bright, uniform and comfortable space for the station. Cool temperature lighting is used for most areas in the station, which creates an atmosphere of the technology and speed. The high reflective mirrors installed on pillars that support the platform canopy are part of the lighting design, which helps to achieve the goal of energy conservation, and environmental protection. Moreover, the downlights with a low color temperature mounted on the ceiling has successfully created a sense of the history of Taiwan Railway at the platform area. Finally, the use of landscape lighting fixtures with the simple inverted cone glass cover enables the luminaire to emit the light softly for the passengers on the platform at night.

Since this was such a meaningful event, Rooster proposed the “lighting show” concept to highlight the differences from other celebration events. With our professional programming technology and the use of RGB LED wall washers (model no. GF06) has made the plain school building look attractive at night.   Lively music and a stunning lighting show caught everyone’s attention as soon as the performance started. During the 2 hours event, the lights kept changing and successfully added value into every student’s performances. Our unique design approach with professional lighting programming technology has created high quality service and above expectation lighting solutions for our clients.  

Bridge lighting design with RGB LEDs Lighting wireless control system Water Pipe Bridge Miao-Li County, Taiwan Completion 2011/06

This project is on a water pipe bridge located in Miao-Li  County in Taiwan. Taking the ride on Highway 13, this steel bridge can be easily seen after entering Miao-Li country. In order to promote local tourism and to strengthen the recognition of this bridge, Rooster uses the latest LED lighting with computer programming technology to give this plain water pipe bridge a total new look. Moreover, each lighting fixture is monitored by a wireless control system, which means that the lighting effect can be changed wirelessly upon the client’s request, and we can notify the local contractor to carry out maintenances to ensure the quality of the lighting.

Now, everyone is able to have the same peace of mind and feel as though they are waiting at a large transit center.  Rooster designers and engineers have teamed together to create the first "passenger-centered" small floodlight for the bus stop. The bus information can be seen much clearly and has the great potential to improve the night-time waiting experience for every passenger.

A revolutionary design that combines solar energy, a real-time arrival system and LED lighting technology, which improves the waiting experience for all bus passengers.

The small-scale floodlight is specially designed to create a better waiting experience for passengers.

The unique bus route roller design improves the display of bus route information, also adds a bit of fun for the passengers while waiting for the bus.

Since 2010, the intelligent solar bus stop system has been widely adapted by Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, and more than 150 sets have been installed on major bus routes. A survey conducted by the Transportation Bureau shows almost 70% of passengers are more likely to use the bus service due to the convenience of the new bus stop design.
