DEAR JEAN :
So glad to hear that youare going to buy a fur coatthis year . I'm rushing thisnote to you before you buyso that I can tell you whata marvelous experience Ihave had .
My dear, I found a placein Oklahoma City -- Mankin'sis the name of it -- wherethey make fur coats TO ORDERjust like you want them . Youpick out exactly the fur youwant, and the style you likeand then they make it up es-pecially for you! Now isn'tthat something -- to get areal, custom-made fur coat!
Now, I know just what youare thinking--that it coststoo much . Honest Jean, thisis a fact -- it doesn't costany more than going into astore and buying a ready-made coat .
Mr . Mankin's customersare his best advertisement .Lots of 0 . U . alumnae inOklahoma City and Norman andother towns around here areregular customers of his .Positively, Jean, he tellsyou the truth about hisfurs . Another thing, besidesmaking grand coats, he givesthe most wonderful serviceon storage and repairs andremodeling furs and all thatkind of stuff .
Oh, I almost forgot totell you -- the experts areadvising the pencil sil-houette or boxy swagger forfur coats for 1938-39 . Bellsleeves with slightlysquared shoulders are good, and collars are small .Squirrels and caraculs andseals are the most popularfurs . But you really MUSTtalk to Mr . Mankin about thekind of coat you want, and Ijust know he will pleaseyou .

How Lawyers Can Build 0. U.
ROLL CALL
By Raymond A. Tol6ert,'131aw
A S the University of Oklahomaproceeds with its Semi-Centennial pro-gram, which will reach a climax in 1942when the institution's fiftieth anniversaryis celebrated, there is an important ser-vice that graduates of the School of Lawcan perform for the University .The last year has been devoted to care-
ful preparations for the Senni-Centennialprogram, by small groups and committees .The time has arrived when the assistanceof larger groups is essential. One of theprincipal aims of the program is to ex-plain to the public the need for gifts andbequests in building a greater Universityof Oklahoma, and law graduates, perhapssnore than any other one group of al-umni, come in contact with men and wo-men of wealth . As attorneys, they areoften called on to give personal advice inthe disposition of estates, in the makingof wills, in working out insurance pro-grams, and in selecting worthy projectsor institutions for benefactions .The establishment of a University of
Oklahoma Foundation, now near com-pletion, provides a specific agency for ac-cepting gifts to be used in the promotionof higher education in Oklahoma . Thedonor has complete freedom in specifyingexactly how the gift or bequest shall beadministered, if he so desires . Since col-leges and universities have proved to beabout the most permanent and stable ofany of our institutions, a gift or bequestto a state university is as safe and usefula gift as can be imagined .Most men who have made fortunes

families feel a desire to return part of theirmoney to society-to put it to some thor-oughly constructive use. O. U. alumnican point to the University of OklahomaFoundation as an almost ideal agencyfor putting money to work on a perm-anent basis.
During the last twelve years, more thansix million dollars have been bequeathedto Cornell University, and the committeein charge has been advised of wills writ-ten by persons still living which containgifts to that university of at least six mil-lion more . Many have made provisionto leave something to Cornell in the formof direct gifts of cash, securities, realestate or other property, contingent be-quests, living trusts, and annuities to carefor loved ones during life, and with theuniversity the ultimate beneficiary .
If () . U. law graduates become famil-iar with similar possibilities for makingbequests to the University of Oklahoma, there is every reason to believe that overa period of years, new sources of vitallyneeded revenue will be opened to theUniversity .Calvin Coolidge once said : "To place
your name by gift or bequest in the keep-ing of an active university is to be surethat the name and project with which itis associated will continue down the cen-turies to quicken the minds and hearts ofyouth, and thus make a permanent con-tribution to the welfare of humanity ."Law alumni have many opportunities to
spread this idea among the people of Ok-lahoma .
